Brand new here, getting ready to start the 5 day reset diet. I had lost almost all my weight then got custody of my 3 grandkids and have gained back 40 out of the 80 lbs I had lost. Anyone have similar experience or needing to go back to the basics like I do?

    Food Exposed - Rant

When my microwave was broken for several months, I used my oven to reheat everything. Granted, I have a counter top oven that preheats quickly. Even now that I have a new microwave, I basically never use it. Food is so much better reheated in the oven. It retains its moisture and texture so nicely.

    Maintenance

It's ok to have a freak out moment. Maintaining and eating more calories is a whole new mind set. Your surgery restriction is still good at 6/7 months out. Your restriction may feel less after your first year. Check with your dietician and see if they would approve liquid sources. I drink liquid carbs to increase my intake for distance running. look into body building weight gain/muscle mass protein shakes. The macros are much different than bariatric shakes. Food Exposed - Rant

One service I love, but can't use anymore because I live alone and don't eat enough, is Hungry HArvest. Its a fruit/veggie delivery service that looks for food that would otherwise be tossed - generally because its "ugly" or stupid things like the store ordered 8oz packs and the farm accidentally packed 16oz packs, so the store won't take them. They also donate food to people on SNAP. Their whole mission is to end food waste and hunger. Unlike most CSAs, you can choose (within what they have available) what veggies/fruit you want, you can start/stop/pause anytime, and the food is so fresh and good. Now that I just can't eat that much, it makes no sense for me, and I hate that I have to buy my veg from the supermarket (until our farmer's markets open back up in spring).

    Sunflower seeds

I rediscovered sunflower seeds! In the shell. Good substitution for chips or candy or other junk. Keeps me busy trying to get past the shell to the seed. Plus protein.

    Pain following surgery

I had almost no pain at all, but people are all across the board when it comes to post-surgical pain. The fact you had hernia repair might be a factor, too...

Yes, It makes sense. Worried about losing and worried about gaining. You will find your zone. You got this.

    3 months Post Up HELP!!!

Your weight loss is excellent. There's no problem here. You have to be realistic; you won't lose 20 lbs every month until you hit goal. Some months will be better than others.

    Period won't go off

Yea, so mine showed up the night before surgery...basically I was spotting. It's been happening ever since at last once a week. This week has been heavier. I feel like it hasn't really stopped since 12/11. But maybe now that it was more of a regular flow for me? I'm 57 and I thought I was finally at menopause so go figure. However, I do know that Estrogen gets stored in our fat cells and as we lose....well, my guess is the weight loss/hormone/period thing is all related. I'm hoping things settle down again but if they don't, I'll seek medical advice.

I had gastric sleeve surgery on 12/11/18 and YES I feel clenching and get gurgling when I eat and drink. I'm assuming I'm eating too fast and getting too much air in.
