My Vit B12 was so high that it was out of the highest range possible. I'm talking in the thousands plus. My doctor, to my surprise, laughed. I took that to mean it wasn't the end of the world. She suggested that I take my B12 once or twice a week instead of every day. I showed my sons my results, too (they are both medical doctors) and they told me not to be alarmed either. At 6mos I am slightly anemic as well, but even then, I was told not to be overly concerned. Eat meat. Don't forget to down my iron. Take your vitamins as directed and it will be okay. I wouldn't say this if I hadn't experienced the same feelings as you did. While it is possible to overdo the fat soluble vitamins (A, D, E, and K), your water soluble vitamins (B and C vitamins) just pass in your urine. It actually takes a long time to get to genuine danger levels. I have Hashimoto's thyroiditis (an autoimmune disorder). Perhaps you have an undiagnosed thyroid condition. Hypothyroidism is extremely common and is easily treated with medication. Write to me privately if you want to talk more or if you'd like me to ask one of my sons about any specific lab results. (Not a substitute for your own doctor... just an offer to perhaps ease your mind until you can see someone.)

Hi hope you are having a great New Year's Eve. I had RnY on Dec 10th. Had surgery as much or maybe a little more because of my comorbidities. I have had exactly 3 shots of insulin since Dec 9th. I was taking 5 a day, 6 on Wednesdays. I have lost 25 pounds since I began this journey in October. Whooo whooo! I try to walk everyday. I have a brace on both legs. They don't hold me back too much. I need knee replacement surgery on the one knee. My failure to lose weight for that found me on this journey. I had started it before but lost a lot of weight just going by the diet guidelines and chickened out. So thrilled I commeted to the journey this time. I give myself health and happiness for the new year.

    January BariatricPalMX?

I am having my Sleeve done on 1/17/2018 at BariatricPalMX and am excited and nervous at the same time. Anyone going the same time that I am? Anyone already been there and can give me words of encouragement or pointer?

    Scars...

I'm super vain, so I did a lot of research about how to prevent and reduce scarring. Only silicone tape or gel has been clinically proven to reduce scarring. If you do any research on plastic surgery, using silicone tape is almost universally recommended. It has a long history of being used on burn patients. I used silicone tape, from Amazon. It was cheap, I still have tons left since you only use like an inch at a time, to cover all your little scars. I tried the gel, but it requires 2 or more applications a day. I'm too lazy for that. The scar tape last 3-6 days on me, through showers and everything. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B002VE9AL8/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    Beginning my journey...

What I've learned so far is that everyone's journey is completely different! My insurance did not require me to lose weight or follow anything for a specified period of time. My pre-op diet is low carb/high protein but thankfully not all liquid. It's a rollercoaster and an emotional journey but we're all in it together!

    Support and honesty needed

Drop 150-whatever pounds overnight by dropping the husband! It amazes me how unsupportive some partners can be. How can you look the person you supposedly love in the eye and tell them that they are going to fail at something they want to do? My hope is that you find some people who truly support and love you in this upcoming year! Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

If he had surgery in early November, then he’d be on a general diet according to my surgeon’s timeline. I had steak less than two months out, about half of a kid’s portion at a Black Angus in Phoenix. Not really seeing the issue here, protein is protein.
