I did the same thing. Every type of supplement under the sun, creams and specials shampoos, was on rogaine for almost 2 years religiously (and only got facial hair to thank for it -_-) Weight loss amplified my alopecia so I ended up shaving it. My brand preference is definitely Jon Renau. Super realistic looking. I've attached a few pictures for reference. Jon Renau Marion (SUPER comfy) Gabor Radiant Beauty (SO much hair but looks cute in an updo) Jon Renau Rachel (My fav!) Jon Renau Allesandra Raquel Welch Upstage (Good if you have a big head, I can't wear it anymore because my noggin shrunk!) Jon Renau Mila (Because everyone ****** needs a platinum one!) I also ordered a cheaper one ($80 vs the JR's that usually run me upwards of $300 when you hit the sales). This one is off Etsy and is definitely a bit wiggier but I LOOOOOVE it. If your out and proud with your wigs like I am, it is so much fun to play around with different styles. I have more than is linked here too. I have various colors of multiple styles. It's an addiction....

It all depends on how I feel about myself that day. Some days I love compliments, other days I cringe.

    What's the Deal With Genepro?

That is a company that just needs to die. No matter what marketing you read, it's a crap product. Go with a trusted brand like Optimum Nutrition or Isopure.

Hey friends, I'm thinking about my Christmas menu. It'll just be me and a friend this year and I'll be about 2 months post-op. My favorite Christmas food (at least for my family) is corn casserole - you know, the one with whole kernel corn, creamed corn, jiffy, butter, sour cream, and cheese. I know I don't want to eat that right now (or maybe ever - too much fat/butter and I haven't had anything carb-y like jiffy corn bread mix yet), plus I don't want to make a big pan of it just for two people, one of whom (me) can only eat about a tablespoon full. So, does anyone have any ideas on how to make a single serving of something kind of similar, but lighter? I've been searching the internet, but haven't come across anything. I realize this is a long shot, but I thought I'd try. Thanks in advance!

30lb pound in 40 days sounds pretty good to me, thats 30lb in almost six weeks. Take into account, the first week or so when there is the surgery fluid gain, take into account the typical 3rd or 4th week stall, all in all you are doing well. But generally, we know nothing about you, your height, weight, how many calories you are consuming, how much you lost pre-op....etc etc...I still say its pretty good, and your expectations may possibly be too high dependent on your start weight.

Absolutely! It's what I did when I kept my hair up in a ballerina bun for running around

    Doctor Recommendation

I had my Gastric Bypass in 2012 with Dr. Joseph Naim, MD, FACS at the Center for Surgical Treatment of Obesity in Long Beach, CA. He was trained by Dr Fobi who was at one time called Hollywood’s weight loss surgeon and considered the weight loss doctor to the stars, (Dr Fobi performed the Fobi Pouch Gastric Bypass got Jennifer Holiday, Etta James, and Roseanne Barr to name a few.) A little about me: I had my Fobi Pouch procedure, which is a variation of the Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass, because I was well over 300 pounds and was facing needing a third lower back surgery. It was not advisable for me to get the third back surgery because 1) I was morbidly obese so there were health concerns especially with anesthesia and 2) The recovery from the procedure typically contributed to a substantial increase in my weight because I couldn’t really exercise enough for it to be beneficial without potentially/inevitably compromising the new back fusion. Dr. Naim is very direct and business like. He is a very proficient surgeon and the surgical procedure he performed on me went off without a hitch. I had problems adjusting initially and in that area Dr. Naim isn’t a very patient, hand holding type of doctor. But if you want a well performed Fobi Pouch procedure and have access to a support group, (especially if you know you need lots of advise and encouragement,) Then Dr Naim is your man.

    Instant Pot and Slow Cooker

I just made up some pretty tasty Chili in my crockpot. This batch was enough to feed my wife, my 2 year old and me with enough left over for me to have quite a few lunches throughout the week. You will need: 1 lb lean, ground turkey 2 cans of kidney beans (I did the no salt added kind. I drained and rinsed the beans while still in the can) 1 can of black beans (same) 1/2 medium white onion (diced) 1 bell pepper (chopped) 1 can diced tomatos 1 can of tomato sauce (mine was a specific mix for chili, but normal tomato sauce should be fine too. You'll just want to add more spices) 2 tbsp of Worcestershire sauce 1 small can of green chilies Seasonings (Chili powder, garlic powder, and black pepper) 2 tbsp of olive oil 1/2 cup shredded cheddar First I put a couple of glorps of olive oil in a frying pan. I'd say roughly 2 tbsp. Then I browned some lean, ground turkey in the oil while seasoning the meat. Then I just added all of the ingredients except for the cheese into my crockpot and cooked on high for 4 hours. You'll probably want to add some more seasonings to the mix. I think you could do it on low for 8 hours as well. Then 15 minutes before it was done I mixed half of my cheese in with the mix and added the second half on top. I just let it finish cooking at that point and served it up. I didn't add salt because my wife has kidney disease. You may want some. I'm kind of used to eating food without it. It's still a fairly bland chili, but I'm in phase 3 right now. So, it works nicely for what I'm looking for. In the future I'd like to work in more veggies, but it is a ton of protein right now.

The endo just told me I'm on the low end of vitamins A, D, zinc, and iron. So I have to follow up to find out what I'm supposed to take. I do not think loading on Biotin helps? @GreenTealael swears by L-Lysine (an amino acid).
