    Weight gain

I agree with you, There is not a lot of information and support for people maintaining or have weight gain. Most vets disappear from the forums because it's mostly new people. It's hard to see people struggle with a major weight gain. I know this is not easy from my own experience. You may not want to hear some of this. But, I'm saying it because I care. The work does not end after goal. Don't let this gain become 100+ pounds back. Are you willing to change, work and do things that are not convenient or comfortable? Suffer the pain of discipline or the pain of regret. (1) As you progress out from sleeve surgery your restriction is less. You will be able to eat more food. (2) Stretching is rare. Very few revisions are done. You can make an appointment with your surgeon to see if you stretched your sleeve. Ask your dietician/surgeons office for help getting your diet back on track. (3) Many people confuse stretching for the the ability to eat more and grazing food throughout the day (combinations of health and unhealthy foods) Any of us can eat around our surgery. Eating more calories is causing the weight gain. (4) Pouch reset is a fancy way of saying getting back on track. Pouch reset is the old diet progression (liquid ,soft foods then real food stage) If you find this too restrictive try a different approach that is realistically sustainable for you long term. Contact your dietician or research diet options. (5) . Portion control/surgery restriction will only take you so far. To set your body back into weight loss mode is to know how many calories you are eating. You can use a food app. It makes it easier. 4 weeks Post Op and gain

Don't feel bad - it's normal (I am still trying to convince myself of this truth). I am 6.5 weeks and I have seen occasions where it's gone up a pound or two. I eat as little as you, too. I also expected weight to come off faster, but slow and steady wins the race. I guess we really don't want 50lbs dropping in a month (I mean we do... but... y'know... probably not the healthiest way to go). It is very, very frustrating... we will get there. There's a thread Weight Loss Stall Venting I made where I ranted in all caps about the exact same thing... at my 4 week mark. lmao. I AM ONLY EATING 400 CALORIES A DAY HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE I BURN 1500 CALORIES JUST EXISTING?!?! kind of rant.

4 weeks Post Op and gain

Bodies are strange. They can fluctuate for many reasons - salt, time of month, exercise (you're muscles can retain fluids while healing), or just because it wants to. Don't look at the daily/weekly - look at the trend. You can create a trendline in a spreadsheet that will show that even if you're up a little this week, the overall trend will be down.

I second the original poster’s comment. I had Dr. Giovanni from Kent Hospital and her entire team is amazing!! I would highly recommend them!!

    Instant Pot and Slow Cooker

Good Morning! I just got an Instant Pot. I'm officially one month out today and I'm starting to be able to eat more real foods. What are your favorite WLS-friendly Instant Pot (or Crock Pot, got one of those too) recipes? I'm looking forward to trying some turkey chili and steamed artichokes.

    Post op clothing

Shop goodwill or another second hand store. I find loads of great things there for dirt cheap. I’m not going to spend a lot on “transitional” clothes.

    Bariatric doctor

I have went to the bariatric doctor and she told me I meet the criteria for the weight loss surgery. Now I have to attend a seminar and I have to go back to the bariatric surgery on 2/13/19 and she will set me up with a surgeon. She said it will be about four months out. I was right on the cusp for meeting the criteria with a 36 BMI with high blood pressure. She told me not to lose any weight or gain any. She made it sound like I am on my way, but I know there are other things I have to do. I checked with my insurance company and they will pay, but I'm so afraid something will happen to keep me from having it. I am 5'4 and 220 pounds. Anyone else with my height and weight had the surgery?
