    800 Calories Per Day

Naw, your joke about methadone is not offensive. I am not some fragile person that cannot take a joke. The only drug I ever struggled with was weed, I still love it. But sadly I cannot use it or it will consume me, all I will want to do is get high. And I don’t mean just a little high, I mean like semi coma high. I am an alcoholic to the bone, I cannot even have one drink or I will drink every day after that. The only option I have is to abstain and stay sober. I used to go to OA about 10 years ago. I never got really that active into it, but liked the meetings. I have found a meeting near my house, but haven’t gone yet. I am a food addict for sure, I will abuse food just like a drug.

    Regret

I'm not on any meds for any health problems due to obesity. I'm doing this so I can fit in friggin' airplane seats and horseback ride again. lmao. Just be able to do the things I did when I was skinny. I know it's not good... but it's been 6 weeks and I weigh myself every.single.day. It is some days really really disheartening. It's a bad habit, and I know I should weigh like.. bi-weekly... but I can't help it. I just wanna see those numbers drop.

    Regret

I've put a LOT of effort into this journey, so measuring success is important for me. I like to know exactly where I am and what I need to do to get to goals. Not everyone operates that way. But I will say this. Back when I "didn't have a scale" and used the fit of my clothing to determine my progress, I reached the highest weight in my life. That approach did not work for me.

How is water going for people?

I have never been a water drinker, but since surgery, it has gotten worse! I drink about 16fl ounces of water a day!!! I just seem to drink when I’m thirsty, and I’m not thirsty too often. How is water going for everyone else? Tomorrow I will be 17 weeks post op.

How is water going for people?

I hit 100 plus ounces daily. It didn't start off that way and it's sometimes easy to forget to drink. I count the water I use to make my shakes as well though. I have two shakes a day @ around 35 ounces each and two to three refills on my water bottle which is 26 ounces. You have to work to make it a habit. Have that water bottle by your side at all times. Sip all the time, not just when you have a thirst. If you have to, do like others do and add that flavoring or drink the GatoradeZero or tea. My biggest issue is how many times throughout the day I have to get to the can and take a piss. Learning to live with that as well.

    Macro targets

Oh no I understand, im eating relatively high fat is what I mean for example my total daily caloric intake is around 800cal atm but im getting around 70-80g protein and im just wondering if anyone has percentages of how they split their carbs and fats thereafter. My first goal is to.acheive the protein target and goal 2 is to stick to my calorie target I just want to know how to split my carbs and fats. Im using myfitnesspal and.it asks you for your targets thats why im curious to hear what other people set.

    800 Calories Per Day

I'm over 2 years out and still don't feel physical hunger. I fasted for 5 days once to test it and never felt a single hunger pang. Some people just get lucky with their surgery and experience greatly diminished appetite compared to most.

    New addiction instead of food???

This is what the pre-op psy exam is supposed to help flush out. Get to some addiction counseling / AA. Several bottles of wine a day, sadly, makes you an alcoholic. You seem to be accepting the addiction to wine, now you need to step up and get some help. Alcohol is in no way a healthier option than food, I don't see how you can justify wine as being healthier. 2 bottles of wine puts you into the 1300 - 1500 calorie a day mark, and with no protein or other required nutritional value... it's pure empty calories. So it's really no better than soda from a "health" standpoint. I hope you do get some help... this is bad on a few levels for a non-altered person, worse so for a WLS patient.
