    Personal Rewards

My birthday is next month, and I had told myself and my hubby that if I did good from now until the 8th, I was going to reward myself with some "good" food. Well, I have not done good so I've grounded myself and said stick to the same foods. When I started this topic earlier (then my computer lost what I had typed) I realized that I don't need to reward myself with food. After all, I got obese by comforting myself with food. That is like telling an addict "if you stay clean and sober a year, I'll give you some heroin." Well, I've decided instead, I'm going to get a piercing. I'm getting it this weekend because my hubby gets paid and the Tattoo studio is having a sale this month. What kind of rewards do you give yourself?

    Sleeve Recovery Time

I was home on day 2 and slept all that day and night. Day three I felt much better. I think it should be fine if you listen to your body. You may get tired. Sit when you do. Don't overdo it. If you don't have to do anything per se, might as well be sitting there vs. at home, right? Definitely keep up on the non narcotic pain relief...don't let it wear off. Good luck! I used only Tylenol days 3-7 and then nothing after that. But I definitely needed it day 3 and it kept the pain controlled, I had the narcotic RX too and didn't need it. Pre-op Tips & Tricks

also get Protein water. It will help with the protein in case you do not get all the shakes in. Also check with your Dr. Mine also said 4-5 but it had to be the lower protein g.. not the 30 because then we would be taking in way too much protein. I spaced my protein shakes out for every few hours in between my meal times. I had broth for a meal to keep some kind of normalcy. ( I could not have food at all, it was strictly liquid.) Congratulations! You got this!

Im a little over 2 yrs out and im pretty much the same. I might be able to eat a bit more than you but if i hit that wall Its coming up. I just take it in stride and try to stop before i'm full so i don't get sick. If i take a long time to eat I'll be tight and that meal will be really small. That next meal won't be as small. If im eating dense protein my meals will always be just a few ounces. Just the cost of doing business. So long as you are healthy and have no issues and aren't losing a ton of weight i say go with it. But if it's really getting to you talk to your surgeon and NUT. Can't hurt. I was unable to tolerate whey protein as well. My fiance's ex wife (we're friends, oddly enough) had bypass 3 months before I did and she recommended Peptipro gelatin. I'm not sure if you can get it in Ohio, but I order it online here in Australia. It's not whey, but it's easier to digest for me. It dissolves completely in water and no gluggy feel like whey powders.

    Sweets

I find sweets are addictive. I used to love them and crave them. Once I stopped eating them (while I was dieting before surgery) I stopped craving them. That made it much easier to avoid them. I’m only 6 weeks post surgery but so far no desire for sweets!! Good luck to you!!

    FIBER

Has anyone used & tasted the califliweted based stuffing from the frozen foods? Might serve it with my Thanksgiving Chicken. Only 2 in family, regarded as too small for turkey-dom, by food pantries. Whatever! Grateful for supplies I got, didn't have many after evil Ex Landlord locked me out and kept everything. Hope Karma bites him big and hard where. 🌞don't shine & that St Peter has a trap-door when he tries to Enter Heaven! 1-2-3, Bye Felicia! And I'll wave as He Flies BY! LOL & SYR(serves you right#)

Losing more than the expected 40-60% ?

Such great motivation here! I, too, don't want to be a statistic. I was once 130 lbs and I want to get there again. I know that with hard work I can get there.
