    To-go lunches

With a microwave and refrigerator your option are endless! Easy Cold foods: cheese and fruit, boiled eggs, greek yogurt parfait, cottage cheese bowls, hummus and vegetable sticks, tuna salad, chicken salad, protein chips and guacamole, nut butters on crispbreads Easy Warm Foods: chili, quiche, kinda creamy chicken and spinach, sorta teriyaki grilled tofu, chickpea stew, zoodle lasagna, ricotta bake, meatballs, various soups and stews Meal prepping really helps especially if you can freeze meals individually and take with you as needed Safe Journey!

    My surgery is in 24hrs

@crysharris great to know! I'm checking in at7.15am CST. My surgery is considered outpatient. It's overnight stay but I must leave in less than 24hrs. I'm calm, fully equipped with knowledge and physically fit (gym 4-5 days per week). All the best to you and quick recovery.

So, I waited until today, Day 3 of the liquid pre-op diet, to post. Yesterday was awful. Total lack of concentration at work, perpetual headache, hunger....Then today. It's like a switch went off. I feel energized, positive. Still a bit of a headache but nothing like yesterday. I can do this!! How did everyone else do on their dreaded pre-op diet? Did you ever want to cheat? If I had been asked that question yesterday, I think I would have answered differently. Today, I know I can stay on course. I need to do this for me. Cheating would only be hurting myself and this whole journey is about finally loving and respecting myself! WHOOHOO!!

How many calories are you allowed?

I should add that I am not allowed fruits, nuts/seeds, or carbs that don't come from vegetables or dairy. It really limits my options. It's basically a ketogenic diet (from what I know of the keto diet). I do like fish, which I can eat more of than I am currently. But even the examples you show are outside my allowance, with the 400 calorie max right now. I could cut a few things out, of course, but then I'm back to struggling to get that 60g protein minimum!

What do you eat in the airport?

Yogurt, string cheese, hard boiled eggs, nuts, Rx bars are the things I’ve found in airports that I’ve been able to eat. Hope that helps!
