That's it. You have probably had hardly any carbs on the liquid diet, mostly just protein, so this high carb/sugar soup spiked your blood sugar and then you crashed. I'm a newbie but I know that in the past if I was doing super low carb and suddenly had a lot of sugar it had a big impact, more of an impact than that meal would have if you were not low carbing.

How many ounces at 2 months?

At 2 months post-op how many ounces were you able to eat, I can eat 8 ounces before I feel full, I know that everyone is different but does this seem to be to much? Thinks!! Sent from my SM-J727VPP using BariatricPal mobile app

So good, you have to try it. 1/2 cup quick oats 1/4 cup cottage cheese two egg whites teaspoon of baking powder splash of milk (I use almond) Zap this in your friendly smoothie maker or blender Dump a few frozen or fresh blueberries in a pan Pour batter over them and cook just like you'd cook pancakes. Flip when they bubble. These are incredible. Maple Grove Farms Sugar free maple syrup is 15 calories for a quarter cup....tastes fantastic! Add some berries and walnuts on top. Enjoy!

Whatever you choose , so long as it is done in conjunction with the surgeon and lots of thought is good. But the thing that never ceases to amaze me is how the 1 op seems to be regarded as so much more minor an op than the other. In 1 they cut away a huge percentage of your stomach and throw it away. In the other they reroute your intestines but they don't remove anything and should the need arise in the future it can be reversed.

Hi Jed! I was 365 at my highest (which is pretty high for a woman) and I also had the sleeve. A couple of my friends thought I should do the bypass because I had/have so much to lose but my surgeon left it up to me so I chose the sleeve because of the slightly lower complication rate. Surgery was 1 month ago and I’ve lost 61 lbs (38 before surgery and 23 since). The good news about being REALLY overweight is you tend to lose faster than people with less to lose. Good luck to you!!

Low Carb/Fasting 14 yrs post op?

@erinlyle if you had the traditional DS, I don't really know anyone who fasts. What we do is eat. More protein and more liquid. I agree with lowering the carbs. That will definitely help with the weight loss. But having the DS was a way to stay away from things like fasting and dieting. Also, you need to keep the protein going for energy and to keep your gastric system eliminating waste.

We all deserve to be in the normal bracket, worked for it, planned for it, even slightly rearranged our bodies to achieve it. Normal -yes, Average-no, average is as close to the bottom as the top. We will not settle for being bottom feeders, we are and will,be slim, trim and sleek! Power to Us All! It's so true! And I'm with you on hopefully finding a good balance. Since Nov, I've either overcompensated by making 3 course meals for the family or been leaving them high and dry because I'm so disinterested. Hopefully, things settle down and normalize where food isn't such a big deal, ya know...
