Good times! I do have to say though, that I ended up using more metric stuff than I ever thought I would. LOL! And, I thought I could snooze my way through the math class that taught us how to use a ruler an the increments on it...thinking, "I will never use this crap in a meeeeeeeeellllllliiiiioooooonnnnn years." LOL. Jokes on me. I'm a graphic artist and use 1/64 ths daily. Bi*ch. LOL.

I was listening to a comedian that was from the 80 something graduating class talk about typing class. He thought he would never in a million years need to learn typing but look at us now! LOL... We never factored in the whole possibility of computer keyboards playing such a huge roll in our lives. To most people in the U.S., the metric system is a foreign language. HAHAHA!

Also- keep in mind that as you lose weight, you’ll have to push harder/increase the intensity to hit your target heart. So yes- a heart rate monitor is essential! I think fit bits do this.. and I know the Apple Watch monitors heart rate during workouts.

    Mommies getting sleeved

Yeah, she super doesn't fall asleep on her own. I was thinking of laying in bed with her till she falls asleep but her tiny bunkbed isn't supposed to hold more then 250 lbs. I don't even know how to get her to fall asleep without me. I don't mind sleeping with her but I WOULD like her to be able to sleep in her own bed for a few short weeks when I will be in a lot of pain. Then she can go back to sleeping with me if she wants.

    Pre-Op Journey

Hi everyone isn't crazy how its the hardest decision to make. Which surgery would be the best for us. I struggled with that decision up to a few months ago. Orginially I was set to do the sleeve, thinking it would be less invasive, sounds like a simpler operation, easier for surgeon to perform but for me I had done soooo much research and after having my endoscopy, I'm convinced the bypass would ultimately be my better choice. I had some low grade inflammation in my stomach which I feel could eventually cause bad acid reflux disease. I had BAD acid reflux before don't want to live with it. Again there is so many people who have done the sleeve and not experience any issues with reflux and have had a lot of success and maintain healthier weight. Its my opinion I've read some really bad horror stories about lap band and lots of revisions which are harder to achieve weight loss and complications after 2nd surgery. I'm just saying really research before considering lap band. As for insurance and out of pocket expense, some hospitals have programs that will adjust depending on your income. Hopefully you'll have some kinda help. so my surgery is 11/15 bypass yep its happening crazy time flys

I will continue to post nutrition articles that are of concern to bariatric patients. We are adults. Those who appreciate them can read them. Those who don't....can either continue to whine and cry about them....or act like adults and simply ignore them. I've been thanked privately and encouraged to continue posting. I'm happy to do that for those who find it of use.
