    Ready to go

Thanks everyone!! Doing good today! Monday was rough. I was sore and slept (in and out) all day. I couldn't eat much and was nauseous and dry heaving once. Doc decided to keep me an extra night, and I was grateful. Liquids went down easier yesterday and even more so today. I should be heading home today. Pain is much improved, except when I cough! Looking forward to sleeping in my own bed!

    10/29 RNY pre op jitters

Bryce86, the ORMC Bariatric program is so organized I needed nothing but my hairbrush. And unless you like lemonade Crystal light, you may want to take your own. I didn’t get to my room until 6pm and at midnight I could start drinking clears so I didn’t even need the biotene. Between trying to sleep, walking the halls and using the incentive spirometer there isn’t much time to do anything else. I only stayed one night. Went home at 4pm my first day post-op and so far have had a perfect recovery. Haven’t used any of the pain or nausea meds they prescribed...15 days now. Best wishes to you on your journey too.

http://cancerres.aacrjournals.org/content/early/2011/06/10/0008-5472.CAN-10-3973.full-text.pdf (The journal article is titled "A Low Carbohydrate, High Protein Diet Slows Tumor Growth and Prevents Cancer Initiation") I prefer to get my information from reputable sources. Like the American Association for Cancer Research. Where they have, you know, real researchers whose sole job is cancer research.

    TYLENOL

Yes. I used it after my surgery. It was preferable to crushing up the Tylenol pills and the Percocet I was prescribed made me so sick I couldn’t take it. I took liquid Tylenol for a few weeks for my surgical pain, headaches, cramps, anything. I bought it at Walgreens and Walmart right by the regular Tylenol. There was no cold medicine in it. To me, anything was better than crushing meds.

    New here

Yes! Keep us posted about your surgery date. Loving all the suggestions from everyone. I'm in Winchester. Where are you? Sent from my SM-G930P using the BariatricPal App I am in Manassas. I will update once I've got more information from my doctors - but I think they don't even discuss dates until all the tests are done.
