Not Losing Weight on PreOp Diet??

I have a call on Monday with the bariatric nurse to confirm my medications. I think I need to discuss this with them. Because I've been on other diets before and lost more than this in a shorter time. So something isn't right... unless my body is in starvation mode and it's going to drop a TON all at once. It's really hard not to get discouraged, though, when you actually do what you're supposed to. =( I lost more weight in September when I was eating Taco Bell once a day. lol. Not kidding. Excercise

By the way, that doesn't mean that for me, personally, that I believe weight loss is won in the kitchen, rather than the gym. (It's probably different for everyone!) It just means for me, I must be scrupulous about both.

    Excercise

I honestly believe in order for me to lose, I must exercise daily if at all possible. I try to walk 60 to 60+ minutes per day. I'm trying very hard to get back to doing my strength training/core exercises but that's not as regular--so far about 2x week is all I manage.

Are you drinking the same protein drink the whole 2-3 months? Try switching if they aren't settling well. Also with chicken and tuna, I had to make them really moist and juicy for me to be able to swallow without gagging when I was able to actually have pureed/soft foods. It was horrible until I figured it out. The most important thing is you are losing and have lost a lot. We are all different in how our surgeries work and how fast. Keep your head up and doing what's right and your body will lose the weight how fast your body is supposed to lose weight.

Well this did NOT taste good before surgery.... so I anticipate it would make me hurl after surgery too. My cats like it, though.

Not Losing Weight on PreOp Diet??

I've been on my pre-op diet for 5 solid days now and I have lost 1 lb! I thought we are supposed to lose weight on this thing! My surgeon said "everybody" drops a lot of pounds in these 16 days and I have lost 1lb. ONE. And I am starving! What gives!? I have two shakes a day that are 100-180 calories each and one frozen meal under 300 calories and that's it! If I can't lose weight eating this few calories, how will surgery help? Feeling discouraged. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app
