    Weight gain

WLS is a tool. It's 100% up to you to work with it. If you don't have any motivation, you need to look somewhere else, it's not the WLS causing that. If your eating is out of control... reign that crap in, only you can do that. You've got 2 options. Do what you need to... or don't. It's your call. No one here is going to do it for you. Your WLS won't do it for you. You have to look yourself in the mirror and decide that you are no longer going to allow yourself to keep ignoring what needs to be done. Start over. Restart your Pre-op diet and follow it to the letter, pretend in you didn't have the surgery and are going to get it... start your pre-op, then fast the day of "surgery", then start working through your post-op diet. This will get you back into the swing of things and will "reset" your pouch/sleeve a bit. You have to be the one to make this work. So, make the decision to do it.

    Weight gain

A nine pound weight gain in two years isn't too bad Now it's time to work it off. Remember it's a lot easier to lose nine pounds than 20. Make it your goal to lose three pounds a week. In less than a month you'll be back to 185. From there you can work off more of you want. How is your restriction after 2years? One piece of advice I get from my nutritionist and doctors is to stay away from the carbs. They slide right through your restriction and you can over eat them. Instead stay with the proteins. i know as time goes by we tend to get back into the bad eating behaviors. Now is the time to reverse your weight gain while it's still manageable.

    “Clean Your Plate!”

I imagine most of us were raised hearing this. It is something that I struggled greatly with growing up, as an adult, and even now post op. It cannot be that I am the only one, so I wanted to share my struggles and thoughts. This philosophy was strictly enforced in my house; I remember sitting by an open window, watching the neighborhood kids play outside, while I ignored the cold plate of meatloaf in front of me until bedtime. I have wondered how things got so out of hand with my weight; maybe because my relationship with food was unhealthy so early in life? Did I try to take back some of my own and over do it? Regardless, here I am kickstarting my rebirth. This new life is one where I leave the path my parents, grandparents, even great grandparents have been following and make my own. There is so much I want to take with me from their eras; preserving and growing vegetables from my great grandmother, sewing from my grandmother, and my mother’s passion for literacy and books. Respectfully, they can keep their rules for the dinner table though. Instead of cleaning my plate, I will make smaller meals, use fresher ingredients (grown by myself, guys!), and save treats like homemade bread, cookies, pie, and cake for special occasions. I will exchange my indulgences to (hopefully) live a longer, more active life, feel more confident and competent at my job, and minimize my risk of hypertension, early onset arthritis, and diabetes. This surgery has given me so much hope and motivation to change my life for the better. I know all of you can too! Let’s share and hope to inspire eachother. What are your biggest struggles during your journey? Why do you think you have these particular struggles? What do you want to do to overcome them?

    Current Weight Loss Challenges?

Why can't we start some? Maybe ask Alex if he would be willing to give away some products as rewards?

    Sweet tooth

Wonderslim Chocolate Caramel protein shake / pudding - Bariatric Pal Cheesecake protein shake / pudding The wonderslim has become a good friend of mine. I love it for that sweetness especially when I'm craving chocolate, which isn't that often anymore. And it must be engraved into my brain, but I'm a sucker for cheesecake anything - so when I found the pudding I was in 7th heaven (well at least my head was)... my belly doesn't care so much anymore. I tend to crave more salty than sweet as of late... I keep a jar of mixed nuts everywhere...

    Help needed!

I would contact your surgeon. I was off pain meds as soon as I left the hospital and returned to work 1 week later. I had some sharp pains between incision points but it went away relatively quickly (within 2-3 days after I spoke with my surgeon)
