    Quesiton about long term weight

Prior to surgery I had to have a BMR test... it turned out that my BMR was barely 1500kcal. (I should preface this with my NUT used the calculator and told me my cal should be around 1572) So when I thought I was supposed to lose weight, it was slowly creeping on. I was unintentionally over eating daily. I suppose post surgery it has gone down (my scale says its 1332), but I'm hoping once my weight loss stabilizes I'll be given another test to ensure my final Maintenance calories are appropriately lined for me.

This is such a great question! You will want to determine your BMR. https://dailyburn.com/life/health/how-to-calculate-bmr/ Talk to your NUT about this. Once you determine what your BMR is you will want to consume the minimum calories your body burns daily in order to maintain your current weight.

I LOVE Whisps. I don't think I've tried Just the Cheese, I'll be on the lookout for it. Thanks!

P3 protein packs made by Kraft are my go to grab n go. Ranges from 13 - 20 g protein. Has meat, cheese and nuts and they are 2 oz - 3.2 oz in size. I can grab one, throw it in my purse and I am good to go!

    Taking Multiple Pills Post Surgery

Doing fine but one came through unchanged, since several are the same size I will forever wonder which it was. An no, I did not keep it around long enough for an in-depth interview, it just went bye bye down the River of No Return!✋✋💩

    Taking Multiple Pills Post Surgery

Right after surgery, I was a little afraid to take pills. So for about a month or so, I did everything I could to avoid. I did the vitamin patches, tried to get chewable or gummy anything else I had to take. I even crushed things or opened capsules and put the powder on pudding/yogurt to swallow down. By the time I was on regular food again, I was taking normal size pills. At first, I took them 1 at a time, but now...I just put them in my mouth and swallow them down. I usually try to take them with food or within 15-20 minutes of eating. I find that if I take them on an empty stomach, I regret it: I taste the pills, I burp up medicine burps, get heartburn, or even get nauseated. The largest pill I take is a gel-cap that's 3/4 inch long. The most I take at one time is 5. That's 2 reg size capsules + 2 small gel caps + an iron pill. Right now, I'm still doing gummy MVI's, but when those are gone, I think I'm going back to my normal size multivitamin.

    Hair Loss! OMG!

I am two weeks post op and spoke to my Dr the other day. She told me protein was vital in the early stages to help prevent hair loss. Additionally I had started taking Biotin in January when I started Keto (prior to WLS) - it took about 6 months for the Biotin to kick in and give me much thicker / healthier hair than I had starting the year. Biotin works, but in my opinion, it takes months to get results and if we're not taking in enough protein early on, we will suffer hair loss.
