    2 years out and struggling.

@MrsLucas sorry for your loss. You can just start over. Pretend you didn't have the surgery and start off with a pre-op diet, then transition though the stages the same way you didn't when you originally had the surgery. It can be challenging, but it's a great way to hit the reset button and get back on track. Good luck!

Best thing I did was meeting with a psychologist. I was able to figure out my triggers and change my attitude and focus to know I am worth it.

Thank you Matt, I'm seeing this now, but I did decide to try it out. I also decided to try out the bryers carb consious ice cream. The latter is probably bad I know it, but I'm under on my calorie goals, and I can only eat 90 calories at a time. It does have protein as well, but maybe I'm over-justifying it. They both went down fine. Well, the ice cream still makes my insides rumble, slightly more than a protein drink, but other than the weird sensation of food literally moving around my abdomen, there were no other issues. I am concerned about the stretch because I think I'm eating more than a 1/4 cup. I still don't know what should be a proper size post-op. Feeling full is a different feeling, but I think I have experienced it a few times, and I did put down whatever I was eating. As far as the portion size, I know that's on me, I just need to get out a measuring cup every time I'm going to eat. Thank you again for your reply!

I was reminded today that I have posted in quite some time. I am doing great! I am down 102 pounds from my highest weight and need to lose 3 pounds to get to the doctors goal weight for me of 165. I actually want to get down to 150, but my family thinks that I am getting to skinny! LOL imagine someone telling me that! I have had some stalls and am guilty of weighing myself everyday, but so far so good. When I have a stall or that dreaded teeter totter of bouncing back and forth one or 2 pounds I just adjust my eating and exercise and I start losing again, it has not been easy. It's so exciting to be able to play with my granddaughter and hike and work out and not feel like I am going to kill over. I have also become a sounding board for people that are thinking of have the procedure and that feels good. Over all this has been a godsend for me.

I use Body Fortress Isolate powder. Pick it up at WalMart for just under 20 bucks for a two lb container. It does foam but goes away pretty quickly when shaken. Only problem with shaking Isolate powder is it does not dissolve as much as if you used a blender or bullet. I asked how to avoid this or make it happen less a while back on here and someone suggested adding icecubes. I have found in my blender it doesn't help at all but does make the shake more like a slushy which I like a lot. I drink them foamy anyway and have since right after surgery and have no issues. I was never told it would be an issue by my team so I just said F' it. I was never told anything about using sippy cups either. Never even heard of it?

Maybe becsause I had VSG but those b@st@rds still rip me apart. I can sit out with my wife for 2 minutes and I'll end up with 15 bites and she wasn't bothered. Even now if I spray myself from head to toe I'll still wind up with 1 or 2 bites. I wish what you are experiencing happened to me.

    When was your first plateau?

I highly doubt you gained 4lbs. In fact, I know you didn't. Remember, it takes 3500 calories to gain 1 lb. You can't possibly be eating enough to gain any weight at this stage. There are many things that contribute to the scale fluctuating higher throughout post op. 1. Constipation, or just poop in general 2. Liquid retention 3. For women, periods 4. Swelling from the healing process 5. Time of day that you are weighing yourself.

    Orange county?

I think another thread was just started on a similar topic! My surgeon was Dr. David Oliak - he's amazing! His staff is very supportive and they hold weekly support group meetings. His website is: www.oliakcenter.com
