    Smoking

Hate to break it to you- but quitting my 20 year cigarette habit proved to be much less of a battle than this food stuff has been. I quit using a combination of bupropion and electronic cigarettes. However- be mindful that you will probably get tested for cotinine(the metabolite if nicotine), so if you do use electronic cigarettes, you’ll need to ween down to a nicotine free juice at least a month before being tested. I have been cigarette free for 8.5 months and do not miss it at all.

    Medicaid pre-surgery weight loss

I read many years ago in a forum that during your six months of trying to lose weight, which is documented by your doctor, that you must lose a certain amount of weight, but that you can’t lose too much weight in order to be covered by Medicaid. I was wondering how much people have lost who were covered by Medicaid, or if anyone has any kind of idea of how much is too much to lose before getting the surgery?

    Was giving a second chance

Not the same group you were used to but hopefully just as helpful. Congrats on getting this 2nd chance and best of luck on a greater success this time around.

    Hungry after surgery

I'm 9 days out and I hear you about the water. I barely drank water for the first week, it hurt going down. Powerade Zero is my new favorite beverage. I got tired of super-sweet crystal light. I don't really feel that hungry so much as I miss eating I think. I do find myself watching lots of cooking videos and looking at restaurant yelp pictures. I have a feeling you're experience the same "head hunger" type thing.

Meatloaf does sound like a great idea, thank you. I hadn't hear of an instapot but I've been known to have my head in front of a computer long enough to not notice the world changing I'm definitely going to look into an instapot!

I joined a gym last night for the first time in my life. Right now I'm only joining for the pool/water aerobics, but who knows what the future holds!

    Feeling Lost

The pouch reset is bs, just keep following the plan. Track your food and liquids, weight loss is not linear, this is a long haul and get your head wrapped around that and you will be fine. I stalled for 3 months, but dropped 2 sizes in clothing. Lord it was torture, but then 12 pounds came off, the body fat distribution changed too - my stomach fat finally started going going down - yay! This journey will try your patience, but learn what works for you - you are the only one that can figure that out.
