    Got my date!

I've been lurking around here for a while, but now that I have my date (Sept 12, 2018) Its time to get down to business!!! I'm excited and scared to death too. From post surgery experience, how soon after surgery can I hope to be off diabetes medicine?

    Medicaid pre-surgery weight loss

I read many years ago in a forum that during your six months of trying to lose weight, which is documented by your doctor, that you must lose a certain amount of weight, but that you can’t lose too much weight in order to be covered by Medicaid. I was wondering how much people have lost who were covered by Medicaid, or if anyone has any kind of idea of how much is too much to lose before getting the surgery?

    Hungry after surgery

I'm 9 days out and I hear you about the water. I barely drank water for the first week, it hurt going down. Powerade Zero is my new favorite beverage. I got tired of super-sweet crystal light. I don't really feel that hungry so much as I miss eating I think. I do find myself watching lots of cooking videos and looking at restaurant yelp pictures. I have a feeling you're experience the same "head hunger" type thing.

Meatloaf does sound like a great idea, thank you. I hadn't hear of an instapot but I've been known to have my head in front of a computer long enough to not notice the world changing I'm definitely going to look into an instapot!

I joined a gym last night for the first time in my life. Right now I'm only joining for the pool/water aerobics, but who knows what the future holds!

Why I am so hungry all the time.

What soft foods are you eating? Yogurts, cottage cheese, jello, soup, pudding? Chicken salad, tuna salad, flaked fish, tofu, hummus, refried beans? Some things "slide" right through you leaving you hungry quickly, (if you see the term sliders thrown around thats whats being referring to) Even in the soft stage you have to try to eat denser protein to stay fuller longer, this will be the balancing act of your journey I combat my "hunger" (some times its not) with warm soothing drinks until the next scheduled meal. BTW You can do this !!!
