Ever since I can remember, I have been the "fat guy". That is what I was known for. I never took my shirt off at a pool or a beach, ever! That is something I want to change though. So, my best friend who I graduated high school together has always been much slimmer, popular, girls flocked to him; I sure you get the drift. Although we have been friends for over two decades I feel he never took me seriously because of my weight. At parties, clubs, bars, social situations I was always the one who was ignored and not payed attention too. Well, he moved out of state and we see each other about twice a year. He has a very stressful job and as a result has been emotionally eating and gained a significant amount of weight. He is one of the few that know that I had my surgery and he is very supportive. We saw each other for the first time in over a year last week and guess what...drum roll.....I weigh less than him. He even made a comment on how I was flirting with the waitress at the restaurant we met at. It felt like I was in his shoes for once. It felt truly that the tables have turned.

    3 weeks post op

Hey guys, I’m new to the site, I’m 3 weeks post op. I have been on liquids as a choice. However I’ve wanted to begin eating. I’ve been consistent in weight loss daily and I’ve exercised by walking for 20 minutes. I want a meatball but I’m afraid. Does anyone have ideas?

    7 days post op

Just remember this^^. Because there are going to be more times ahead where you stumble and feel like it's never going to get better. But, as you've seen yourself, it does. Congrats on "getting" one of the most important things with WLS... that mental game is a beeotch!

    I FINALLY have a date!

WOOHOO!!! I started this process in October 2017, and as of today I finally have a date! I'll be getting my bypass on September 19th! I can't tell you how excited I am to know that this PRE-op process is finally heading toward a close. I'm ready to start my new life. I know post-op will be hard for the first several months, but I'm so ready. Now I just need to make sure I have EVERYTHING lined up and all my supplies purchased so that I'm ready for those all important clear liquid, liquid, and soft food stages. Let me know if you're joining me in September, we can be motivational buddies!

Glad you now have a cute little navel, kinda weird celebrating such a thing but it is important to you so therefore of interest to,me too. I told you I bet that one was going to pain the most! But you're better, not feeling so rocky and I'm glad for that! I usually don't have that much anesthesia nausea but I am getting older and it might hit me harder. If it does I'm in good company, aren't I? Its been years since i had that much intubation, but I'll get through it, you did after all. It's odd, but each story makes me feel closer, like I'm part of a big society of something. I belong! I just got to go through my initation and I'm there!

    Centrum and vitamins. Show me

My daughter is Celiac, she is 9 now but was diagnosed when she was 2. I've never had any doctors tell me that she needs to be taking vitamins! Can you educate me about this a bit so I can get her what she needs?
