    Rock You Like a Hurricane!

Hubby and I are going to see the Scorpions in September! Flashback to my wasted youth!

Congratulations! You look great. I'm just under 2 weeks post-op and this is really helpful, as I feel like while none of this is hard, none of it is particularly pleasant either. A bit like putting my life from a cruise in 4th gear abruptly into first gear. Learning to sip, taking things slow, etc. can be difficult, but I know it's worth it!

It is so cool to read about how quickly some of the non-scale victories can be achieved! I'm not on a lot of meds right now but borderline with everything (diabetes, cholesterol, heart disease, etc) It so amazing that this surgery can change your life so much in such a short time. A couple of weeks of discomfort for a lifetime of wellness - I'll take that bet! Surgery in 2 days - was feeling nervous yesterday, now I can't wait!

You've lost 66 lbs since April, that is in no way slow. I'd suggest focusing on the positives, instead of some unrealistic expectation on how fast you would lose. When in your life have you been able to lose 66 lbs in 4 months?

    6 days after surgery

Question, I am 6 days out too, I do have pain on my left side still, is that normal do you think. It’s the same pain I had after surgery (sleeve) it is less pain everyday but just still there. I could not go to work if I had too today. I also had to take milk magnesium and a stool softener, so it could just be gas and bowel related. So just checking out there. A little nervous. Other then that just trying to get all the liquid in I can!

If you make sure all your cleaning is done before you leave. You should be fine, I was home alone and just used Tylenol for pain

    Shakes and getting enough protein

Yes. Now that you put it that way, I am going to force myself to drink those 3 shakes a day. I do force myself. But drinking 8 oz takes me 2 hours because I drink small sips not to overload my stomach or cause pain. So I guess I’ll just be drinking the shakes all day long.

    Craving pizza

Check the ingredients of the cauliflower crust, in my experience many have alternative flours and are actually less healthy for you and are also higher in carbs than regular pizza dough. Additionally as many have stated pizza this early post op,probably not the best decision, think of your new stomach and the acid that comes with pizza sauce. You could be causing severe damage to your new healing belly Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

I ate like a normal person yesterday!!! I was at an all-day training where they provided breakfast and lunch. Since I didn't know what they would be serving, I packed my little cooler with a protein bar, yogurt and a fruit cup. I didn't need it, woohoo! One of the breakfast options was a yogurt parfait and at the lunch buffet they had (in addition to a bunch of stuff I couldn't eat) salmon patties, a squash medley, and orzo. They had fruit cups for the afternoon snack! I was so excited to eat what other people ate! I admit, I did eat some sweets, too. But overall, what a good day!
