I've made a conscientious effort to avoid using the word "love" when talking about food. "I love chicken wings. I love French fries. I love tacos. I love spaghetti." No more! I'm breaking off my love affair with food. We're just good friends now. But food keeps trying to win me back. "Give me another chance!" "No, Food. I'm moving on. There's someone else in my life now. Someone that I love more than I ever loved you -- myself, my health, my life." - What word will I use in place of "love"? Probably good ol' "like". "I like okra. I like shrimp. I like garden-fresh tomatoes. I like pecans." I'm also going to avoid using the word "hate". Hate gives Food more importance than it deserves. "I don't like pineapple. I dislike Brussels sprouts. I don't care for liver." - For me, it's easier to give up the word "love" rather than "hate". Not sure why.

I make it in my crock pot all the time. I make lots of chicken and pork dishes that way. I tolerate meat as long as it is moist and I can chew it well without it being too dry.

I wouldn't worry too much about the period issues. Everything gets out of whack for a few months. I was told that and reminded it after too lol. But you can mention it to your doctor and ask just to be reassured. As for protein they do have protein waters available.....I haven't tried any yet but I think I am going to get unflavored protein because I also got sick of the shake taste and can't seem to do the one's I still have right now.

OK, so what's going on 6wks out

Sometimes you have to switch things up. If creamy whey shakes are no longer palatable, move to plant based. I went to Raw pea protein and mix it with berry flavored or coffee flavored pea protein. They are great in a blender because the good ones don’t froth or get whipped with air! Everything is too sweet for me now so I water everything down. I don’t play the menstrual game. Threw that uterus away after my only child at 35! What a blessing!

Three months post-op today and I'm down 54 pounds. My A1C, which was 10.8 a month prior to surgery, is now at 5.5! Plus, I have gone from a 5x to a 2x Just broke the 250 mark, and can't wait to get to Onederland!

    Slowly going down

Be patient. Your body is going to lose at it's own rate. Slower is often better. Going too low calorie or exercising to much can trigger a stall. Just stay on track and you'll get there.

    December2017 Sleevers Check In!

I was sleeved 12/4/17. I've lost 55lbs post surgery.(18lbs preop from highest weight) I have about 25lbs I'd like to lose but my surgeon said if I didnt lose another pound he would be happy with me. I am still going to try anyway to lose the last bit of weight anyway. I am living my best life this summer. Wearing a bathing suit in public doesn't scare me anymore.
