    Eating too much?

I do find I am able to eat more soup and say salad rather than a denser start of 4 oz of just protein. If I eat 4 oz of meat I will be full but I am always able to eat more than 4oz of chili or soup. I don’t stress over it as I make my own soups and they are high in protein and low in carbs. I don’t stress over eating more salad because sometimes my body needs the vegetables and I get sick of meat all the time.

    Best Sugar Substitues

What are the best sugar substitues for 1-adding to cold food 2-adding to beverages 3-cooking/baking There are so many options, I'd like to hear what you've enjoyed (ok, and what you hated, too!) Thanks!

    Pouch Reset

The lesson learned by those of us who had to follow a pre-op liquid diet continues to serve us. I'm still amazed at what a little ketosis can do. And I'll always remember the sense of pride I felt when I was able to successfully complete those seven days. It doesn't surprise me, then, that this reset worked. A pouch reset. I think I'll add that term to my weight-loss glossary.

    Day 3 Post Op

Drinking my Smoothe Move tea in the hopes of moving things around, Some abdominal pain but nothing that is to bad, I am enjoying taking a nap mid day, it feels like a real luxury, Still struggling to get my protein and water in daily. 2 more weeks of full liquids then 4 weeks of soft proteins. Looking forward to real food. I have lost 5 lbs since my surgery although I am not focusing on it. Hang in there ladies, we got this!

    Eating too much?

Check in with your team and ask them to explain the mechanics again, always helpful to hear it from the pros

    Eating too much?

Some foods are easier to eat larger amounts of, usually they are softer in texture, some people (me) lovingly call them sliders . Not a big deal when its protein based and you need the macros, a much bigger deal when the foods hold little to no nutritional value for your current lifestyle (crackers-no judgment I promise). To help with this you can eat only the recommended size (1/4-1/2 cup), watch out for these sliders and make sure you are eating for 30 mins or less (part of the 30/30/30 rule) because the stomach does eventually empty (it can happen while you are eating) Eating for longer periods means you'll be replacing cals too quickly and runs the risk of grazing (which means higher cal consumption effectively canceling out the effects of the surgery) Check with your team for more clarity

    Day 3 Post Op

I’m 2 days post op, taking all my pills without crushing, they’re going down ok. No where near getting my protein or water in but I’m trying. Slight nausea, a lot of abdominal soreness, some gas. Ready to move on.

    Shoulder Pain?

I have been reading in a lot of people's post about shoulder pain. Why would my shoulder hurt if the surgery is on my stomach? Did I miss something?
