    Journey post op 13days

I am 26yrs old. I wanted to get this surgery done since 4 5yrs but my family was not supporting. I was back home at that time. Kept asking my parents they didn't approve it. I took my decision. I am proud of myself that i took my own decision for good. My roommate supported me even if she was against it. She accompanied me for Surgery. I lost 9kgs im 13days. Hoping for things to go smooth. I want to answer people who always made me realise that even after having everything i had one thing missing in my life , I am fat. Well wait and watch now. My dad is very happy after i told him about this surgery. Waiting for some good outcomes to tell my mom about it. I hope it is a life changing for us Sent from my SM-N950W using BariatricPal mobile app

I am really sorry about your Dad. What a lot to deal with. Yeesh. If you have any reinforcements....Now is the time to call them in. A bestie, a cousin, an aunt...anyone you trust. You need help. You need to drink. Sip, sip, sip. This is so important. Keep drinking your clears and keep drinking your protien drinks. Put a couple in your car. Put a couple in your purse. Keep drinking. It's your most important job right now. You need to rest when you're tired, but don't sit or lay for too long. You need to get up and walk every hour if possible, except when you sleep at night. Don't exhaust yourself, but keep moving. If you're doing cremation, consider delaying the funeral. My mother in law passed unexpectedly and we did her funeral a month after her death because there were significant health crisis's among the core family. It's unusual, but there is no law against it and people really do understand. Best wishes, and again, heartfelt condolences.

Caryn , I'm hugging you, because I know you need it. What a traffic bewildering thing to happen. Now take a breath, you are going to get through this. Keep up with your fluids, food you can worry about later. Your Dad would not want you hurting yourself by not following the post surgery rules. One foot in front of the, other 👣I had a son die unexpectedly,at 31, so I also have walked this walk. You will make it through but, don't be afraid to ask for help, even if it is respite care for your mother or something else. You showed great strength by just going through your surgery now it is going need an extra reserve,to continue. Do you have friends, clergy , medical staff etc that can help? Cell in all the markets you can to make it past. And if you need to talk, until you can seek more professional consolting you do have your Bariatric Pal. family. May of us have gone through similar, we want to help and never need feel alone. Okay and it is okay to cry 💦 We All Have ourselves.

At this point water is more important than protein. Make sure you get your fluids in! Liquids don't stay in your stomach, they pass through. You won't start feeling restriction until you move on to soft foods. Believe me, you will know the difference! You really can't stretch your stomach with liquids. Relax! Yes, it is hot. 86 degrees when I drove in to work at 8:00 this morning! Definitely try exercise videos. There are even tons of them on youtube for free. I, too, got reallllly burned out on sweet things. Buy/make some soups that you like and strain out the chunks after you heat them up (it's easier.) There are some really good soups in the grocery stores now. I loved roasted red pepper, butternut squash (they were both smooth soups to begin with) and homemade chicken with veggies. After the soup has been heated, stir in 1/2 - 1 scoop of unflavored protein powder. That way you get to count both liquids and proteins toward your daily total. It does get easier as you go along, I promise! Good luck!

Don't worry, your body is just catching up. You usually lose inches when you don't lose weight. Weight fluctuates a lot. It will be fine!

    Down 3 Sizes!

Hi guys and gals, This is insane! I started my journey at 287, a size 24 pant (that were a little on the tight side.) I had surgery on May 14th at 260. Today, just shy of 4 weeks out I weighed in at 239 (finally broke that damn stall). Anyways my clothes have literally been FALLING off me. I was just fine until about a week ago. So I went shopping today and grabbed some size 22s. Too big. So I grabbed some 20s. Still too big. So in total awe I grabbed some size 18s and holy mackerel they FIT. I almost died. And I tried on a shirt that was size 14/16 and it fit! I am on cloud 9 right now 😍. Hope all my fellow May surgery buddies are doing well!

    Sports Bras

I have purchased the Enell brand sports bra’s. I use to work out a lot and my boobs didn’t move an inch in these bad boys. And they felt good because of no underwire and front hook closures. I wouldn’t wear them around casually because they have a lot of fabric and it is a minimzee style bra that makes your girls look smaller. For casual wear, I wear lane bryant’s cacique
