Hunger after drinking 20+ oz water

Many times I can get very, very hungry after drinking Water and while drinking water. I admit that my meal/snack times are not ideal and can be erratic. All water I drink is near ice cold or cold and from thermos that starts out with ice if that makes a difference. Is this normal, or is it time to eat a meal/snack? Usually I'll have a morsel of food if not near a meal/snack time and it does a good job or satisfying the hunger, and provides immediate relief. And is this hunger mental or physical? I really can't tell what is mental or physical hunger. Sent from my XT1609 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Universal flip off

I got mine 7 days after and it was horrible as well. I was expecting it to be bad though, I hadn't had one in almost a year prior to that.

    Coffee

I am on day 2 of Pre-op, so no more creamer or sugar. I am using Splenda or Stevia for sweetner and Almond Milk or premier protein for creamer. I preferred powder creamer. and am not happy with the taste of my coffee the last 2 days. Anyone have suggestions? I could do without sweetner all togather if I found a creamer that was good enough. Any advice? Has anyone tried the Inspire powder creamers?

What side do you sleep on?

I had surgery two weeks ago. I am a stomach/side sleeper and was worried about this. I slept for a week in a recliner on my back. At 3 days post op I decided to lay down for about 90 minutes on my left side for nap, and when I got up, I had a red/purple bruise the size of a baseball on my side. I spoke with the nurse, and she thought it was just gravity pulling the blood down to my side and not a new bleed. Thankfully I had no pain and nothing developed. She did ask me to wait a week before I laid on my side again. At a week post op I started on my right side and a few days later tried my left. I haven’t had any other problems. I have laid partly on my stomach over the last few days, and that has been fine. A body pillow has been helpful.

Not a few days out without a lot of discomfort. A few weeks out, it got so much easier. I could sleep on my stomach and on either side. I'm a year out now and sleeping just feels like.... Normal. Needing to Vent

Hi! I’m from the NE, too. Albany, NY to be exact. You can do this! I will be having a hiatal hernia repaired with my bypass surgery, too. It is pretty common from what I hear. I have anxiety, too— and I’ve definitely have a few panic attacks over going through with this. But I’ve told myself that this is my best chance at a healthy, long life... You may get gallstones, you may get them even without the surgery. I had them years ago. They are uncomfortable, but not... end of the world bad. The gallbladder removal surgery is quite simple for most people. As someone who has been through the gallstone thing, it wasn’t as bad as some of the things I may experience if l don’t address my weight- so I wouldn’t let the possibility of it deter you. Best of luck to you and welcome!

    First day of liquid diet

I feel very fortunate to only have 2 days of liquid diet for pre-op....3 weeks of no starches, though. Hang in there!!

I understand completely. I mildly indulged in carbs before my pre-op and now I feel like I am paying for it in my pre-op. I have had really bad headaches from carb withdrawl. I think its normal but do understand it will make your pre-op all the much harder.
