When did you join a gym?

Not trying to hijack or take away from your poll. Visit and check out gyms in your area before you join. It's finding your comfort zone. Some are more family friendly. Ask the staff what hours are less crowded.

    IGNORING EVERYONE!!!

So I haven’t even had this surgery yet and I’m already isolating my self from triggers of family, friends etc. I am seriously feeling like this is the best way for now because either people are super insensitive or they just don’t realize the words that come out their mouths. So until I’m good and ready I am MIA.... rant rave over and out

When did you join a gym?

I have been exercising at gym for a while and worked up to 6-7 days per week pre-op. Four days a week in the pool and three days a week strength training and using the recumbent stepper. I am recently post op and not going at the moment (just walking outside while I am off work) but will go back as soon as I am able to get in the pool again. I am planning to buy three or four personal training sessions when I am a couple of months post op to help me design a workout using body weight exercises that is a little more challenging for me. I would love to try yoga or Pilates or Body Pump but don’t think I would be able to keep up and so am reluctant to try those at this point—maybe if I can build some confidence on my own with body weight exercises I can convince myself to try a class. I love going to the gym. Exercise has gone from being a struggle to being a must-do stress reliever over time. I am really itching to go back and would really like these incisions to heal already so that I can get back in the pool. Hoping I can do it in another week or so.

    Woke up choking on bile!

Sit up or prop yourself up in bed. Start sipping water gently to reduce the acid" fire' in your throat. My grandmotherly advice would be to sip a little milk to set t le things down or take a Tums, if you're still feeling miserable after the sun rises, call your doctor's office and check in with them.❤and a Hug!

Way to go, seems like you are doing fantastic. What was the hardest point for you? How long did it take for you to start seeing your weight drop.

I figured since so many people have revisions from sleeve to RNY, I’d just have RNY to begin with. Higher weight loss and keep more weight off longer, per data.

Age 60 is the new 40?

Really great thank you for asking. All my power shopping yesterday got me down to 260.8 this morning which is 24 pounds gone since I started my preop diet 4/18 and 9 pounds down from my day of surgery weight. I feel really very good with increasing energy.

Way to go! I have been to restaurants with the family and I have done similar to you. Almost any place will accommodate my special requests. If I order my own plate of food most of it comes home for additional meals. That feeling of being able to go out with the family and do "typical" things is all part of our learning process. You did a great job.

Since the weather has finally warmed up enough that I won't be wearing long sleeves now, I just went through my dresser and closet and culled a full 55-gallon trash bag of clothes that either are already too big or will be by the time cool weather rolls around again. It'll be off to Goodwill soon. I did save my biggest pair of jeans (34s) and the outfit I take my progress pics in.
