I started walking the day of surgery and never looked back. I walk every day. Now, I'm up to walking 1-40 minute session and 1-30 minute session per day--that's over 2 miles per day which sounds wussy, but is HUGE for me. At 6 weeks I was released to do strength training and I began in PT again to help me build core strength and endurance in preparation to working with someone to help me with a strength training (weights) plan. I have no limitations.

I started more walking yesterday, but will wait a few weeks before I do anything more high impact. I am hoping to do a little light weeding/gardening next week, and might even be able to squeeze in a light-weight fishing session in the next few weeks (no heavy surf fishing for at least 3 months for me though).

I am 2 months out today and that is still my “one bite too many” signal. I just try to eat slower so that I can tell when I am full before I get to that point. It takes some time, but really pay attention as you eat and you will start to recognize the signs. Also, measuring my food really helps. Good luck!!

I'm 90% sure I'm going with Dr. Cardenas too. Will have the plastics in different stages because I'm an older WLS patient (52 now) with lots of excess skin. One thing that is holding me back is that 23 months out, I'm finding it harder to keep the bad habits at bay and am toying with getting therapy for behavior modification and stabilizing a bit better (behaviorally, i.e., controlling nighttime binges) before going under the knife. Congratulations on moving forward with you plans and please keep the updates coming!
