    Hooray for Yard Work! Woot!

Sounds crazy, doesn't it? I've had a couple half days off work and have been breaking my butt the past five days doing spring clean up. Tons of raking, mowing, pulling out vines, cutting down scrap vegetation, chopping out huge piles of stuff to burn, cleaning the tree line, cleaning up raised garden beds, tilling. Doing stuff i've wanted to do for years:) It really feels amazing to work outside for most of the day and not be out of breath after half an hour. I never thought I'd get back to this level of stamina or energy. It's amazing to me, and I am LOVING it! And ON TOP of the very cool reality that I'm gonna have a veggie garden and awesome herb garden this year (and a super tidy gorgeous yard)....this little spurt of added exercise has kicked my metabolism into gear and i've lost 10 pounds in the last month.....which is pretty darned cool given that the previous two months had slowed down to 5-6 pound losses. Yard work isn't generally something people write home about and enjoy.......but this year, it couldn't be more welcome:)

    Pre-surgery

Hello everybody!!! My surgery is next Monday (05/14) and I’m starting to feel nervous. I don’t know if it’s part of the excitement. How are some of you handling your emotions?

    Sugar

I’ve had sugar. Ate a popsicle that wasn’t sugar free by accident. It was added to my box by my husband who is working on emptying the freezer and I grabbed it by mistake. I had no issue at all. Nothing. I was shocked.

    Sugar

Some of us can tolerate it while others can't. Is your fear sugar because of dumping syndrome or weight gain? If I have sugar and carbs I crave them more. I don't get sick from it in small amounts. I also feel bogged down when I don't eat healthy.

    Eeeekkk!

Endoscopy is super easy and super quick. You're out for about 20-30 minutes and you wake right up. I had mine done at 10AM and was able to go to lunch with hubby on our way home from the appointment. Please don't obsess about it...it's a piece of cake.

@acuttita i think there is a conflict with the two (2) statements above between you and your doctor wearing a stomach binder?? ask the dr if that is ok - putting pressure on that area doesn't sound like a good idea to me. might help you feel better - (holding yourself up) but i don't think its good for the incision area. The area needs to "breathe". Doc wants you to wear loose clothing. you will still feel pain, - but that is the healthy way to go - we always should listen to the doc! hope things clear up and you start to feel better good luck kathy

Is this a new pain or been consistently painful since surgery? I was told any new pain to make an appt to be seen. My big incision is to the right of my belly button and it hurt like crazy. Every time I moved it felt like everything was ripping out. I bought a stomach binder (like what would be worn after a c-section) from amazon and it has been a life saver! Something about the right amount of pressure just helped. Also some liquid Tylenol helped so I could stay away from the narc meds.

    Pre-surgery

I’m two days pre-op and I am feeling crazy nervous right now. I have been good so far but every time someone asks me if I’m ready and tells me it’s life changing, I feel like I want to vomit.

    Post Op BM

I was also sleeved 5/3 and have the same problem. Called doctors office and they told me to take 2 Tbsp. Milk of magnesia. Also suggested adding daily colace. Just took the MOM so I’ll let you know how it goes.

That’s what keeps me motivated, all the people that have done it. Good luck!
