Great story! and what a wonderful husband. I also feel terrible for those whose partners or family don't support them--I think maybe the worst is mothers, as we're so conditioned to want their approval and support. Hugs to all who need them!

    VEGAS!!!

you could be fine lots of people are hitting it hard by 6 weeks, but and there is always a but, Be prepared just in case your one of those that needs the extra time to recover from the surgery. depending on your food plan you could be on the start of solids by then so just be careful to always carry a water bottle with you. dehydration at that point is very real and a vegas hospital stay would not be any fun (no slots in the rooms or cafeteria) and make for terrible instagram shots. have fun and be careful

Sleeved on Thurs Kids sports on Sat

Still feeling great after having surgery 2 days ago. Today I'm at my daughter's soccer and next is my son's baseball game. I'm dizzy from all the anti-nausea meds but am feeling awesome.

    Saturday 259 am

It's 2:59 am, awoken by a burning sensation of my esophagus and stomach pain; my mind goes to ”leak!” I am 5 days out. My incisions look great. I have no fevers, and my appetite is good. I also have had no trouble drinking 64 oz of liquids. I don't want to become dehydrated so I made it my mission to improve every day by keeping myself aware through a journal. I monitor my medication, sleeping patterns, exercise, body temp, and liquid intake. It's been rather easy. I should be grateful. I was expecting everything to be much worse, I think this where my leak fears comes to play. I find myself dwelling on every minor discomfort, involuntary muscle movements, tingle, itch, and heartbeat as an indicator of a possible leak. I find myself googling for symptoms, causes of a leak at night; debating whether I should contact my surgeon. Fearing. I would know if I had a leak right? Do surgeons run a test after the surgery? Any of you dealt with this leak fear? If so, how did you manage it?

    3 month follow up today

@Seahawks Fan , wish my doctors would let me be 5ft9in, only hope I'm having of my BMI dropping quickly. Even started 1-2 protein shakes instead of meals to see if this flesh would melt. Tired of being the Fluffiest "ewe" in the Bariatric flock of Lambs.😜

This Android is absolutely asinine in posting, makes gibberish out of lucid thoughts and posts in the middle of a sentence without me hitting "Send"!😭😪

I was sleeved same day as you and not struggling either. My programme is just for 1 protein shake a day and the rest is soup/yoghurt/pudding/smoothie. I can get the shake/smoothie/pudding soup down grand but the yoghurts I have are a bit thicker so more challenging! It’s interesting how things evolve, for the first 3 days it was very much a ‘need to eat now’ mentality but yesterday I actually started to want food

Hi there, I am so sorry that you are having such a painful experience [emoji17] I had my surgery on April 5th & I too struggled with extreme pain (exactly as you describe!) & wondered what was wrong with me, as it appeared everyone else had little to none. I was so worried that I ended up having a battery of tests all to find that everything was fine. So from there I had no choice but to accept that for me, this is how it was going to be. The pain started to get better, but then the next hurdle was changing to Purée stage. That was also a nightmare (& still isn’t where it should be). So I’ve stopped trying to make changes by the book & am doing things when my body feels ok to try. If you feel that something isn’t right, please follow up with your medical team. But please know that for some, this is normal & it will start to improve at a rate that is right fo you. Wishing you all the best [emoji170]

I always have a couple of protein bars in the car (not chocolate as we head to summer - they get icky in the heat.) I tend to get the Quest ones. This way, I know I have something I can eat that's legal. Otherwise, I'll order a salad of some kind with an added protein and dressing on the side if I'm out with a client. By eating the protein and moving the salad around on my plate, no one notices I'm not really eating much. When I'm on the road, (I'm in Philly) I can always pop into a Wawa and get tuna, chicken or egg salad and a fork. I have been known, when driving to get a hot dog and eat it without the bun.

    Surgery Eve

Happy to report that everything went well with surgery! I did struggle a little bit in recovery with low blood pressures and they were concerned I might be bleeding internally, but things perked back up after a few hours and IV fluids. Very little pain fortunately. Walking is very helpful. I’ve started my fluid challenge and am doing really well getting the fluids down. Need to work on breathing into the spirometer; that has been tougher. All in all I’m feeling very good. Hope everyone else who is having surgery now is feeling the same!
