    Bullying

I don't think anyone is currently bullying. Rather it's just an open discussion. I think we all get really heated when it comes to discussion and we have to remember to be compassionate towards others. We're all struggling, more or less, from the same affliction of being (or having been) morbidly obese. A little bit of compassion goes a long way. I challenge folks to use compassion instead of bluntness to get a point across. I include myself as well.

Had my surgery on April 24th and no amount of research could prepare me for what I felt! However, things are looking up for sure! I’m walking daily and getting back to feeling normal. I’m struggling with liquids but my mom came in for the surgery and she has a timer set to make sure I’m exercising and drinking. Now, we are in the process of complying some food food ideas for the purée stage. This is something I’m looking forward to after being on liquids going on 3 weeks now! Any recipe suggestions? Down over 20lbs since i started the liquid diet to now! Woohoo!!!

    Liquid diet

I’m on day 6 of my liquid diet. Surgery is May 7. It’s pretty difficult in my opinion but I do know it will be worth it.

@baribetty, please don't be scared, all of us are here for you, the veterans know what you're going through, they understand. I am still presurgical but I know what I will tell myself on that, okay. Well the day you have prayed and dream of so long is finally coming. Entertain no fears for you can rely on your surgeon and c surgical team and you know they will keep you safe and secure while you are in v their care. This the right time, your reasons for this step are your own but they are the right ones. You will go to sleep softly, when you awake you will awake with a smile for you have achieved something special in your life. Now is the time to begin your transition to the future, the hard work still continues. You were given a shiny new tool, now you must learn to use it wisely. This is the hardest yet rewarding thing you have even done. Your v tomorrow's start with that first step out of bed. You know you can do this, all your yesterday's lead up to this. Today is a gift, that's why it is called the present. One step starts it all, swing your feet over the edge of the bed, slowly stand up , get your balance and start out. The future is now yours. I have this already written on the file card I will use in June or July. For my day lies ahead also, I will make it and you Baribetty will too. Hugs. Frust8

LOL, and their lies the most common issue amongst us, some of these drinks are absolutely disgusting and some nearly made me puke as well, getting your hands on some samples first is always a good move or take the extra step and contact the company for some. The real surprise is to what chemicals they slip into products today (DATEM (DiAcetyl Tartaric acid Esters of Monoglycerides) and you practically need a degree in science to avoid foods today.

I drink one caramel premier protein in my coffee everyday. I figure 30 bonus grams of protein doesn't hurt:)

Southern, Please put in a call to your surgeon's office. it is always better to talk to them about any new increased or failing to improve pain. It will in most cases turn out to be nothing but the risk is not worth it. No matter the replies please just call and talk it thru with someone in the surgeons office and let them decide if it is routine or not. These first weeks are the most risky.
