Ok first I am going to send you a big big hug from where I am to where you are. I am going to congratulate you on loving yourself enough to take this step to change for the better. You can do this. Now for some tips. Sugar is basically cocaine and if you can detox from that the sooner the better and you will be less hungry. Protein is going to become your best friend. Learn how to get it in in a variety of ways. Also there are going to be days when you do amazing at this it will come so easy then there will be others where you will fall into temptation and just feel angry. Let those feelings pass. Acknowledge them then let them go. Sent from my SM-T380 using BariatricPal mobile app

I have only told two of my sisters, my boyfriend, my son, his wife and one other person. Then a good friend at work told me just week she was having weight loss surgery so i told her. lol I am not gonna tell anyone else. People are judgmental. One of my sister's was very supportive, the other being no so much. It hurt my feelings and made me with i hadn't said anything. I figured this is my time and I am gonna treat it like it is:)

Southern, Please put in a call to your surgeon's office. it is always better to talk to them about any new increased or failing to improve pain. It will in most cases turn out to be nothing but the risk is not worth it. No matter the replies please just call and talk it thru with someone in the surgeons office and let them decide if it is routine or not. These first weeks are the most risky.

    Gave birth last night.

People thought I was kidding when I said I passed a pineapple the first time. Yes, the first time. There have been times even recently where I have struggled with the constipation that were every bit 2 lbs. I felt like a gladiator leaving the Colosseum after being victorious in battle. I just needed someone to high-5 me. Fiber - get friendly with it!

Age 60 is the new 40?

If 60 is the new 40, then 41 must be the new 21? LOL! In my case, genetics plays a huge role and I am not of particularly good genetic stock. No one in our family ever really lived much past 82 and my brother and I both decided not to have children of our own.

Age 60 is the new 40?

60 is only the new 40 if you plan to retire at 85. LOL. People are living longer, but weight loss is harder after menopause. Be consistent and work hard... but be realistic, too. Don't feel like you're doing something wrong if the younger people lose a little faster...just stay the course:) Best wishes on your upcoming procedure!
