    Beginning to Regret

Like Boston states above...people generally comment/post about negative issues and problems. Kind of like giving reviews at a restaurant etc. the regret/fear may be normal, heck, I haven’t had my rny yet (due to in 3.5 weeks) but sometimes I think, “what am I doing?!” But I have read where people have complications but fight through them and end up doing well and they don’t regret their decisions still. Continue doing great! You got this.

    High Protein Snack Foods

I get them at Walmart. They are in the produce/service deli section, above the "specialty" cheese. They are also on WalMart.com, and I'm sure they're many other places as well!

Hello everyone! I am almost a week post op. I feel great. I am still a little sore. I haven't had any issues other than going #2. So far no vomiting which is good because I really do not like to vomit. I am on day 2 of full liquid diet and I am tolerating everything very well. I had hernia repair while being sleeved and seem to be fine. I am glad that my surgery is over and I am looking forward to the life changes ahead. Best wishes to you all!

    High Triglycerides- Advice Needed!

Yes, there is a great deal of question whether statins have any effect on ANYONE--but especially on women. The studies tend to point that statins have not reduced all cause mortality. If memory serves, but don't trust Chemobrain. It used to say that men with ACTIVE heart disease and who have had a cardiac event benefit from statins. But in my belief, changing your diet and exercise (resistance training rather than, or in addition to cardio) will make REAL improvement in your cholesterol--rather than the improvement shown on paper with statin use. It has to do with the VLD particles and what type they actually are and what statins reduce. (VLD=very low density lipoproteins).

What The? I Stopped Losing Weight!

Its called the week three stall -- or the three week stall. I've seen it both ways! Its normal/common. It generally happens between weeks 2 and 4. I'm on day #10 myself.

My circumstances are similar. I have a very supportive husband. He loved me at my highest and loves the new me. He has embraced my lifestyle change as well. He hasn't been overweight a day in his life. He's enjoying every moment of my new found energy. We do so much more together and I think it's helped our relationship. I haven't tried to change his eating style. I still buy him all of his junk favorites and I don't scoff when he eats them in front of me. I know his metabolism is different and we are DIFFERENT human beings. I should have learned this a long time ago, I could have avoided the 75lbs I put on during our marriage.

Research divorce rates after bariatric surgery. 80-85% of couples will split up 2 years after bariatric surgery. Surgeons and psychologists will tell you....surgery can make a good relationship better, and a bad relationship worse. Be prepared for that.

60% is the statistical average excess weight loss after sleeve surgery. (To figure Excess Weight, take your weight the day of surgery and subtract your weight at a normal 24.9 BMI) Some people lose less than this. Some people lose more Most people will be clustered on one side or the other of 60% (55%-65%) You will have statistically MORE success if you: 1. Are younger. 2. Have no mobility issues. 3. Do not have diabetes yet. 4. You had presurgical diet success. Those who lose well on their presurgical diet tend to lose more post surgically. You will have statistically LESS success if you: 1. Are older, or going through menopause 2. Have mobility issues, or healthy issues that impede activity 3. Have diabetes (even if you've put it into remission) 4. Did not lose at least 10% of your excess weight on your presurgical diet. People who have the most success at two years post op: 1. Regularly follow up with their surgeons post surgically. 2. Regularly follow up with their dietitians post surgically. 3. Take their vitamins as prescribed and have their levels checked. These are, of course, just reflections of statistical data. Individual cases can vary dramatically. If you are hell bent to lose 100% of your excess weight, it is possible to achieve. People do it. But it's rare. Still...it's worth your best effort to get as close as you can:)

Yes, I bought XL t-shirts from Groupon and Woot several months before I needed them. In general, if I’m buying clothes, it’s in the next size down from where I’m at now. Today I was pleasantly surprised to learn that my suits can be taken in, and for free, since the charge I already paid for tailoring was for the life of the suits.
