Toradol is an NSAID. It can cause all sorts of unpleasant GI side effects including vomiting, bloating, stomach pain. NSAIDS...even injectables...are associated with marginal ulcers in bypass and sleeve. They used to be used, but are very rarely used anymore because of emerging data about this problem. It's a wonderful drug for pain. Works great. But the pain from gastric sleeve is minimal and the risks do not outweigh the benefits. I would not take Toradol, I had a perfect recovery, too. Walked over two miles in the ward the day of my surgery and couldn't stop smiling. Felt terrific. I took as few pain meds as they would allow. Had no problem drinking and progressing. Was released about 24 hours after my surgery. Regular over the counter liquid Tylenol worked great for me at home.

Freaking out Internet is the devil

You will read hundreds of positive reviews here about Dr Illan. Not sure if I've ever seen a bad one,. You have to go with who you are comfortable with. If you can live with the bad review that caused you to cancel with belite, great. I didn't use Dr Illan, but he would be one of my top choices based on reviews, and my interactions with their team. Good luck! Sent from my XT1254 using BariatricPal mobile app

They look scary but I'm very thankful they were benign, is it something you'll have to have routinally screened? Like every year?[emoji19] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

    Learned My Lesson

From what my surgeon has told me you really don't have to worry about "damaging the sleeve," and those other things you describe are "natures way of telling you to back off." No harm no foul, its a learning experience.

    Today’s lunch picture

Hey girlie, don't know if you're talking to me or not? But I'll answer, I'm worried about it frankly! But I've now gone back to making sure I only eat 1/2c of food which for me is about 1 1/2oz protein + 1/2-1oz of veg (+ sometimes "meat lube"). LOL. The RD and doc both said that I'm pretty typical for her patients. That most likely I have very little inflammation and that I may have a less tricky stoma. She also said some people just "get it in their head" that they're supposed to have difficulty eating after surgery and it starts spasms in their tum or esophagus. So that after 2-3 bites they have a false sense of fullness. (This was the RD.) She said others have spastic colons that create the same issue. So bottom line was I was eating too much and just because I "can" eat that much, doesn't mean I "should" eat that much. But adding texture and more raw or low cooked veggies and denser meats have helped me realize I have a full level!

    Self-Pay US Program Reccs?

Bariatrix Florida. I paid $8899, but I think it's about $10500 now. Also Dr shillingford in FL, Dr Borland in Louisiana, Dr Umbach in Las Vegas are all under $11k I think. I used insurance for preop, but everything else except post op bloodwork was covered. Sent from my XT1254 using BariatricPal mobile app
