Wanted to share since I’m hoping other people have gone through this or to encourage and show others what a great decision this was. Went away for the week with the family and I lost 3 pounds!!!! [emoji50][emoji50] that has NEVER happened to me before, even when I was on a “diet.” I’m about 3 months post-op and although I tried to eat healthy and brought protein shakes, there were of course many times when I ate other things like pizza, ice cream, etc. My new little pouch is amazing because it helped me to eat a lot less and not over-indulge in food that I would’ve in the past. I won’t lie, it has been a struggle - from making the decision to have this surgery, getting used to not drinking before and after meals, eating a little bit of food and so on and so on. But times like this makes me realize what a great decision I made for myself and that I can still have a good time and eat right. So definitely a win win!!!

    Post by pass 7 days

So I had by pass on March 26th. Surgeon told me he removed and repaired a Hernia the size of a football at the same time. Next day I had a reaction to pain meds that had me in seasides, Wednesday I sprung a leak in one of my entry points and lost a lot of blood. They released on Friday. Rough weekend due lots of gas still in my system. Yet through all of this, you can’t stop fighting. Their is no turning back. It’s Monday morning, I slept five painless hours for the first time ! Things are looking up and I can’t wait to tackle my day.

    Easter candy!

How would you like to be allergic to chocolate like me? No true joy there in a cocoa world. Alas I still have a few nemesis left -like Reeses pieces and Payday bars.Whipped cream, Maraschino cherries and Caramel syrup. Lead me not into Blondie Brownies and Iced Sugar Cookies. I have food-dar, I'll find them on my own![emoji497][emoji512][emoji511][emoji513] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Hah! And I lost 3 pounds last week. Maybe we should just all move to Niue and dive and walk and read until we reach goal weight!!

    Sleeved 3/28..

Congrats DeDawn making it through your surgery. I believe you are on the right path by exercising and taking walks to regain your strength and improve your conditioning that will support your weight loss down the road. I believe exercise and increased activity maximize the results of this surgery and your surgeon will be most likely be pleased to hear that you are doing so. Good Luck to you and welcome to the forum.

    Surgery date on Monday

I remember I packed a pair of warm socks because it can be cold in the hospital room. And a pair of slippers that way I could walk around and my tooth brush and some tooth paste. And a change of clothes so when I went home. You’re gonna be sore and in some pain and be uncomfortable but it’ll be worth if. You got this! This is just the beginning of the journey but the results will be worth it!

I have heard similar comments directed at people other than myself and it breaks my heart. You chose who you want to tell, find your support system, whether its your family, friends, coworkers or even on here.. I havent told several people I know because of their ignorance and i just know they would have negative things to say. I have be told "oh well you don't look that big" and I think to myself well what does it matter what I look like if I feel like crap? Or if my health needs improvement? You're doing this for you, no one else! Keep your head up and if people find out (that you don't want to know) take their comments with a grain of salt and throw it out! Then come on here and get some positive encouragement from people going through what you are.. [emoji173] Best of luck, it'll be hard but it'll be great!

    Skin break out?

I haven't broken out, but I'm so dry. I have been using my son's eczema cream. You can find it at Walmart, its called Ceravae. It thicker than lotion and in this house we use it like it's going out of style.
