    Its happening!!

I am so happy for you. My surgaversary is April 20. I started that day weighing 248 and I am 4ft 11. This week I have weighed in at 130. That is 118 pounds gone. It is a roller coaster ride of emotions but so worth it. I have my life back. You will get a second chance too. Just follow directions and you will be amazed at where you will end up. They give us the shovel during surgery. It’s up to us to dig ourselves out. Keep thinking positive and be as excited as you are right now. Good luck and keep smiling.

    TMI - sorry

Is that much iron even safe? I'm not being sarcastic, I'm curious. Isn't that way more than recommended? I think I surgeon recommends 30. Sent from my XT1254 using BariatricPal mobile app

    TMI - sorry

Have you started on an Iron Supplement? If it is being absorbed correctly it should turn your stool black. Trust me I with the color and the constipation the Iron causes me I keep wanting to check for diamonds.

    I need help

Why are you doing this? What do you want to accomplish? Who do you feel accountable to? Think of those things when you're struggling. You can do anything you set your mind to. I was terrified of the liquid diet stage. I started January 1st, and wasn't on soft foods until February 1st. It was easy before because I didn't have to think about what to prepare. I guess it was easier in general than I expected it to be. I had the headache too, you can get through this. Sent from my SM-G900W8 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Weight loss

It's a valid concern! I ended up being self pay because I had only a 2 lb buffer to work with and decided it was too risky. I was drinking sweat tea every day in an effort to maintain, but felt awful. So I decided to pay cash, switched Dr's and said to heck with insurance. Much less stressful. I feel your pain, I wasn't cut out for that level of stress Sent from my XT1254 using BariatricPal mobile app

Thank you everyone for the kind words and encouragement and for just being here to listen. It is great to have this supportive place. I do try to tell myself it is a surgery for big people and it will be ok. My surgeon has done many and some bigger than me so I should just have faith. Part of me just wants to get to May and be done and the other part is like whoa time is flying lol. I'm sure I will be on here ranting more over journey and hopefully in a few months I'll be comforting newbies as well. Thanks again for support and just listening/reading my fears as this helps me more than you will ever know :-)

Thank you! I am trying to think like that. And yes I am strong I just need to keep looking forward. There is so much I want to do and I am fairly young still in my 30's so I am ready to get it now. I just don't want to chicken out.

    Hair loss?

Mine is just starting at 8 weeks out and isn't too bad yet. It's part of the journey. My surgeon and RD say to get your protein in - it's the best bet to minimize the loss. But it is temporary!
