When do sleevers go back to work?

The incision recovery's not what'll get you. It's the lack of caloric intake and large-scale internal repairs being made (a long incision and staples down your stomach) that will completely sap your energy. Not the case for everyone, but for me it was sort of like pregnancy brain - a huge amount of my energy was being redirected to organ repair. And then layer on top of that no calories.

    Pre-Op Calorie Intake

I am going to try this @fluffychix! I've read a few others used this method to break stalls post-op, so maybe it will help me. Thanks!

I weighed more in hospital too bc they pump you with all the fluids, then when I weighed in at my 7 day post up I had lost 8 pounds, my doctor said that was normal bc it was the fluids balancing out.

I’ve lost 43 lbs. Saw my surgeon yesterday. She was very pleased. You’re doing great. In another 3 months at the same rate, you’ll be 82 pounds less! Sounds like your surgeon is not being realistic. We all don’t drop 12 - 20 pounds/month. Your rate of loss is safe and consistent. Keep up the great work! [emoji259]

    Guys I made it!!!

I woke up after surgery and was on some pretty good pain meds and could not even feel much pain but god I was sleepy like I said. The next day I woke up in some pain not too bad mostly shoulder pain which walking and a heat pack helped to ease. The day after I was discharged from hospital. I was in a little pain mostly just uncomfortable sleeping was hard because I couldn't find the right angle and the pain meds were making me feel hot like red face, chest and scalp. It was so weird so I just took the slow release one and not the endone and I feel so much better. Today I feel great, I'm up drinking soup, and this amazing smoothie and doing laps of my apartment. Although unfortunately struggling with the water. But yeah long story short I'm doing great [emoji120][emoji4]

    Very discouraged op 1/11/18

So lemme ask you? What are you eating. And then the bi*chy part. Just because you CAN eat way more than you're supposed to, doesn't mean you SHOULD eat way more than you're supposed to... You know? It is up to each one of us to follow our surgeon's rules to the letter of the law, or as closely as we understand them. Right? If it says at 1 month, you're supposed to be eating 1/4c of food 6 times a day...then make it so! I don't have feelings of satiety right now either at only 2 weeks. None of us will. We just have to blindly try our hardest to process the information they give and follow it. Once you start eating dense protein first, not drinking before or after meals, etc, and kicking carbs to the very end IF you have room, you will start feeling restriction. Swearsies. And in the meantime, 27 fu*king pounds in 1 month is incredible. Makes me want to cut a bit*h. LOL. Deep congratulations to you on 27lbs!!!! That's amazing and outstanding. Are you overjoyed? (Sorry for the newbie-splaining. Newbie splaining=When a new post-op baripatient tries to give advice to anyone as if they know what the fu*k is going on.)

    I feel so doomed

Yeah! You gave life. Nothing is ruined even if you feel like it. It takes a lot out of a woman to give life and then take care of that little one that depends on you. Give yourself a chance, you will get there.
