    Who is observing Lent?

I know I'm a day late on this, but I haven't come up with what I am giving up for Lent this year. We had a sermon a few years ago about how Lent is not a diet plan, it's not meant to be a second chance at re-starting a New Year's resolution. That sort of kicked me right in the guilt-button, because I had given up sugar before and the whole focus ended up being how great I felt and how much weight I had lost. Not the point of Lent. So all you Anglicans/Catholics, tell me what you chose and why!

    Water pills

Been using triamterene-hctz for a long while now. At first I had some calf cramping, but adjusted by drinking more water. My friend who is Dr. of Pharmacy recommended switching out table salt for that pink all natural salt you can buy online (probably in stores too) as it has tons of trace minerals. Haven't had cramps ever since. The triamterene-hctz also slimmed my legs down from swelling. No real side effects to speak of now. Wouldn't worry about it at all.

    Pre op weight gain.

So Monday is my surgery pending insurance clearance. Thursday I have a pre-op pre-admission test. I had a 6 month nutrition program that I had to lose 25 pounds to qualify and I did. Exactly 25. My problem now is that I gained some of that back. I’m so worried they will deny me, the doctor at least. I worry about everything.

    Loose skin prevention?

it is what it is. Obviously, you can stretch and tone and hope for the best....but don't expect miracles. When you're done...if you don't like how it looks, consider plastics. Youth helps. Weighing less when you start helps. Good collagen genetics help. There is some evidence that losing weight slower helps, but the bottom line seems to be that loose skin is nearly unavoidable when you have a significant weight loss.

    My man said I cheated

He doesn't seem to realize his own actions may make it so. It is sad this had to surface, even when you think you have somebody figured out they throw a monkey wrench into life.[emoji42] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Call it what you like...I don't need a product that is made of filtered water to be spelled out for me. If you feel better saying "Drink" it's its all good.

I don't find the term "Protein water" misleading. to each their own... Says protein drink on the front of the bottle. It's made with filtered water and has 40 grams of protein. Ingredients : Filtered Water, Ion-Exchange Whey (milk) Protein Isolate, Natural and Artificial Flavors, Sucralose, Phosphoric Acid, Polysorbate 80, FD&C Blue #1

    Surgery delay

Patience grasshopper. My journey didn't come without bumps, landmines and sinkholes. I tore my planter facia from my foot, I had Achilles tendon issues. I was depressed. The 1program I was in at holy family in Methuen was aweful. The " nutritionist" would tell me to try something. I'd do it. Then say oh don't do that. 8years with my lap-band

I have had mine 8 yrs as well and started having abdominal pain at band site and intestinal inflammation. The upper GI found there is no restriction, but fortunately no internal damage. I find out this week what happens next. I also gained after my last child and weigh more than my pre-op weight. I am right there with you. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using BariatricPal mobile app
