We were not allowed to eat any food the first week. Clear liquids and protein drinks only. We were told not to drink more than 4 ounces per hour. One ounce per 15 minutes was the target. That tiny little medicine cup in about 12 teenie sips. Yep, it's hard...and all you're doing...all day long..is sipping and sipping and sipping....but if you do these tiny sips all day, it's tolerable, and you can get a lot in. Avoid long naps...you lose hours of the day you need to be drinking. Start drinking as soon as you wake up, keep drinking until you get in bed at night. 4 ounces per hour. Measure and record everything....it will keep you out of the emergency room. Call your surgeon's office about anti nausea medication if you're not already taking it. Don't eat food. Alternate by the hour....4 ounces of water one hour, 4 ounces of protein shake the next. one ounce every 15 minutes. Do your best. If you start falling behind....phone your surgeon's office. It's a lot easier to go to their office to have a bag of fluids run into you, than end up at the ER at night.

    1 day post op question

Walk a lot! Also, iv tylenol helped a lot while in hospital and liquid sf tylenol when I was home helped that pain that goes through to your back. But walk more than anything!

    Liquor diet woes

The liquid diet is one of the hardest parts. You feel tired and worn down the first 3 days. After that, your body will adapt to the new diet and you will start to slowly feel better. I was allowed to have non-starchy vegetables and I was eating cucumbers, spinach, and pickles. It will get easier after you get over the first 3-days.

I always retain water during my cycle. Completely normal. It comes off a day or two after. It does usually mean only losing 3 weeks a month on a good month, less if I’m starting to stall though.

Whatever you do, don't use the "Drink Water Reminder" app... it was just a whole bunch of ads Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

It may not be the sleeve. A lot of people get nauseous after anesthesia. I'd give it more time before getting worried.

    Protein

It's been two hours later and I am still full to the brim. Holy crap - I feel like I've eaten a banquet. I am full!

    Insomnia cause - B vitamins?

Yah, @FluffyChix. My circadian rhythm is all kinds of messed up. I used to pretty much sleep through the night. Lately, I've been waking up 3-4x. I hope that this is temporary.
