    Will Secondary Ins pay?

My surgeons office mixed up my insurances. They ran the surgery through my secondary insurance instead of my primary. When they called and said that I was approved I called my primary insurance to confirm. They had no idea what I was talking about. I called my secondary and they did have my surgery scheduled and paid for. My secondary told me it would be no problem if my primary declined to pay. If the primary paid even 1/2 the bill I would have to fight the secondary to cover the other 1/2. In the end my primary picked up the complete tab. In your scenario it appears the primary did not cover the surgery. In this case the secondary should pick it up. My primary is Emblem and my secondary is UHC. In any case I would call up multiple people at your secondary and ask if they will cover if your primary does not. The reason I call multiple people is because I had the misfortune of asking for information regarding my pension and was given the wrong info by the person I called. It cost me quite a bit of money. If I had made multiple calls I would have gotten accurate info to base my decision on. Not all customer reps are competent as I have found out through the years. That's why like medical decisions I get a second (or third) opinion.

I totally agree! I refused to drink the recommended Premier Protein drinks. I am alternating Primal Protein mix and Jay Robb grass fed mixes. They have stevia but I feel that is the least of the enemies. Glad to see someone else shares my concerns! Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app

Everything that is high in fiber and protein, make me feel full quickly and immediately. Anything with high amounts of carbs, I can suck down like air. So I try to stay away from high carb items.

Just thought I would share a bit of humor. First and foremost remember, "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent". I am 9 months out of surgery, and have now lost 230 lbs. and losing. It is quite a change. So I get home from work on evening and step out of my car and a lady in our neighborhood, whom I have known from a distance for 20 years, is walking her dog as she does everyday. She stops in front of my house and looks at me and this is how the conversation goes...... HER - Are you the same person? The same person who has lived here for years? ME - Yes it's me, how are you doing? HER - YOU HAVE LOST SO MUCH WEIGHT! YOU WERE SO BIG! ME - Yes, thank you, I have lost quite a bit of weight. HER - (throwing her arms out as if she was being nailed to a cross) BUT YOU WERE SO BIG! YOU WERE HUGE! And now you look great. How much have you lost? ME - 228 lbs. HER - THAT IS AMAZING! (she had such an excited look on your face) How did you do it? ME - I had surgery. HER - Oh! (and her face deflated, and she looked down her nose with disapproval) These people think we have cheated because we had surgery, or took the easy way out. Little do they know. LOL! I swear I get that reaction so many times when I mention surgery. I am not one to lie, but I think this is going to start being my response to that question we all get of "how did you do it?" My Answer Will Be - I drink a Coke and have chocolate everyday, and eat pasta at least three times a week. At least the look on their faces will be better than that look of disapproval.

    Screw you scale!!

Last two weeks... Me: I'm going to mind my carbs and lower my calories again a bit and walk some more and this and that and this and that... Scale: Hahahahaha. Yeah no you're not losing anything. This week... Me: Screw it I'm going back to my normal diet. Scale: Okay you lost two pounds this week.

Yes - I'm at the start of my journey and was looking for a "before" pic and realised I don't have any photos of me that aren't close up face only or me hiding behind stuff. I don't have a photo of me with my kids or even one of me on my wedding day! It's shameful! I'm so glad I won't feel like that for much longer!!
