    YaY!!

Congratulations, I am only 2 days post-op and the pain has been real but it's getting better gradually. Major regret hit on 1 day post-op but it's slowly dissipating now. I can already tell this will be the best decision I have made for myself. I tear up just thinking that I could be at my goal weight in a year, when I have never been normal weight in my entire life (chubby kid and all). WE CAN DO THIS!

I remember having a lot of trouble getting used to the protein shakes. I had to thin mine down quite a bit, adding extra water helped me meet my water goals. As far as getting your water in, always have your water handy and take small sips all day. Starting from the moment you wake up (keep it bed side). The small sips will stop the ful feeling. Try adding some lemon or Mio or crystal light to your water, so you actually enjoy drinking it. It's all about retraining yourself to form new and healthy habits. And it takes up to two months for an action to become a habit! Be patient. Over time, when you're fully healed, you'll be able to drink all 64oz and more!

    Vitamins

I am not making a plug for Bariatric Vitamins but here goes. For me I thought about what I had just went thru and knowing that I am in this forever. I felt like I should at least buy the Bariatric vitamins. I tried the Flintstones and they were horrible, I tried the Chewable Centrum vitamins but man they are so nasty I ouldn't handle them. I have taken CELEBRATE Capsule for the whole time after trying the ones that made me sick. Another thing about me is I started taking chewable Vitamin C, they tasted so good kind of like a sour candy which I love beyond love anything sweet and tangy. Not good for me when I was woofing them down like candy. lol I buy CELEBRATE at Amazon. I like the fact that they are capsule and if need be you could open them and put them in applesauce or something while you are early out. Just my take on vitamins.

    Alcohol allowed at 4 weeks...

So, I had my 6 week check in today and all is well. Weight loss is on track...27 lbs down. I do need to increase my calories. I've been around a thousand and the doctor and dietician would like to see me at 1200-1500, particularly before I start going to the gym. While I was there, I asked how long I needed to wait before I could have a glass of wine. I expected to hear 6 months to a year based on what others have posted. I was surprised when the dietician said that I could have started a couple weeks ago! Of course they gave the usual caveats...empty calories and take it slow to see how I react. Just thought I'd share since I know that question comes up a lot
