A basic backyard pool is $AUD12000 ... unaffordable for most people. A three-month pass to the local indoor swimming centre is $AUD123. No general time limits (other than closing time). I usually stay three to five hours per visit. That's better value than pool ownership.

For me it was eating right not stuffing myself (I'm not gonna lie I have and will have bad days) I try my hardest to get in enough of Protein/water. I have exercised since I had my RNY. At first I walked 6 days a week. But it did get under my skin. If I missed even 1 day it thru me into a tail spin!! I am extremely proud of myself for continuing my exercise. I still have great restriction. I feel like I am in a pretty good place now. I'm not going to say my mind hasn't played lots of mind games. I am still terrifed that I will be one of those stastics that I have gained back all or most of my weight again. I think I knew and felt like this was my last chance to get it off and keep it off. I really don't have much magic. Stay focused and if you slip pick yourself up and KEEP ON KEEPING ON!!!

I think I understand your question and concern. From my personal experience at 4.5 years out, if I eat the way I know I should and exercise the way I know I should... that is if I keep on keeping on, I do not inevitably gain weight. If life happens and holiday cookies or a torn achillies get the better of me, I gain. Is that what you’re Asking?

Does the reason why any of us have a weight gain matter? Could be many things. Your body settling, medical issues, major life changes or old behaviors creeping back in. It's more important that we recognise a gain and work to get back to healthy. I can relate. I feel the need to control my weight. I have to admit my fear of regain is not a normal level. I felt out of control with food and my weight most of my life. I now over think maintaining. It's a bit obsessive on my part. It's something I'm working on.

And I can completely understand how frustrating this is. Try your best to learn new skills to deal with everyday life. It's not that I'm not struggling in some way. Caffeine and sugar problems anyone? (make that a double espresso, please, ok?) I wish you all the best.

Absolutely GREAT reply! This makes total and complete sense! And sadly, it means that I can't really plan for the future--since I really don't know where I fit in that continuum. Thanks so much again to all of you for sharing! This is phenomenally interesting to me!!!! And super helpful, so thank you for taking time out of your busy lives to help me!

Thank you! Yea, sadly they won’t lol My calorie intake eating as I would say like a beast protein after protein yesterday was about 600. Thankfully, I realized where I was gaining all the weight gain, it was from alcohol, I could drink a bottle of wine like it’s no ones business as I cleaned my home. So I quit the fun drinking and now am just focusing on fueling my body with what it needs

    Pre-Op drinks

What kind of broth? I use this stuff called "Better than Bullion" that's pretty tasty. I put a lot of water in it, too, so it's not too salty. Sent from my Pixel using BariatricPal mobile app

    Pre-Op drinks

My pre op diet consisted of 3 serves of Optifast a day either in shake, bar or soup form. I was also told to make sure I get 1 teaspoon of oil per day to avoid gallbladder issues. I was then also given a list of approved vegetables which included, broccoli, celery, onions, tomatoes, carrots, asparagus, mushrooms, capsicum, cauliflower, lettuce, cabbage and brussel sprouts. (a few other things that I can't remember off hand). I used to stirfy them up using my teaspoon of oil. Or make a salad. I only had to do the totally liquid for the day before and of course after the surgery. The purpose of this was to reduce the size of my liver and to make it softer so it could be easily moved out of the way during surgery. As others have said in this thread, please go check with your nutritionist or surgeon to make sure you aren't missing out on key things because you still need nutrition and broths won't be enough.
