    Why am i hungry?

Why wouldn't you be? Your body is starting to starve...and it's noticing. You've been on a severely calorie restricted diet and are expending many more calories than usual trying to heal. Some people are nauseated and don't have the sensation of hunger in the early days. Many others could eat their own leg off they're so damned hungry. I know I was. When you start to include more foods and get better nutrition...you'll feel better and overall you will have less hunger. But early days....hunger can be a bear.

    Misery loves company?

Hi, I did not have any of your issues after my surgery, but I will tell you this: What you are feeling WILL pass. It may suck currently, but you just have to be brave and push forward. Some of what you are feeling might only last a few days. Just be sure to let your surgeon know what you are experiencing and follow their instructions to the letter. Do what you can to stay comfortable and just know that having the surgery WAS the right decision.

Low electrolytes can also cause a lot of this, my dr had me double my intake of electrolytes due to some nausea and dizziness and it seems to have helped.

Not enough calories. Talk to doc and nutritionist. Wishing you the best.

    Who do you wish knew?

kakatlady612 - I'll bet you're right. Your grandmother would be in the balcony applauding you and encouraging you. We are fortunate in our lives to know love. My Mom passed away in 2011. She had lost over 100 pounds through the principles of OA and I've wondered what her reaction would be about my surgery. I keep remembering holding her hand in the middle of the night when she could no longer communicate verbally toward the end and saying, "I'm going to go to the living room. If you'd like me to stay, squeeze my hand if you can and I'll stay." She lightly squeezed my hand. I know if she were here and I needed her, she'd say, "I'll stay."
