    Why am i hungry?

Why wouldn't you be? Your body is starting to starve...and it's noticing. You've been on a severely calorie restricted diet and are expending many more calories than usual trying to heal. Some people are nauseated and don't have the sensation of hunger in the early days. Many others could eat their own leg off they're so damned hungry. I know I was. When you start to include more foods and get better nutrition...you'll feel better and overall you will have less hunger. But early days....hunger can be a bear.

I will normally celebrate Valentines Day the day/weekend before, because I hate the fixed menus, extra cost, large crowds and long waits. We will go wherever we want, and then either have leftovers on Valentines Day, or I will cook a good meal for us. If this isn't an option for you, then I would just order the 5 course feast, eat bites of each course, and then bag up the rest for home. Honestly, everybody is so into doing their own thing, that nobody will notice. Even if they do, who cares? Do your thing.

Low electrolytes can also cause a lot of this, my dr had me double my intake of electrolytes due to some nausea and dizziness and it seems to have helped.

Not enough calories. Talk to doc and nutritionist. Wishing you the best.

I wanted to do that this year but I'm traveling both the weekend before and the weekend after! Which is weird because I never travel.

Haha more unkind to my wallet. If he was paying for the entire thing I'd be less apprehensive about it (is that mean?) but we're splitting the cost so I feel silly paying so much for a meal I'll mostly be eating as leftovers, if I even finish them before they go bad. I'm going to try mentioning it to him today, thank you for the advice (and thanks to everyone else who gave advice!)

I’m 4 weeks post op and surprised at how much I could drink too. And I can take big gulps which shocked me! My surgeon said that’s normal but to be careful not to damage his handy work!

Having a little pause at three weeks is very common. It's important to follow your nutritionists instructions and eat well. Eating too few calories can actually stop you from losing weight because your body will go into starvation mode and actually conserve every calorie. Listen to your team and follow their instructions for the best results:) Good luck and best wishes.
