    Confused by signs

I had my lap band placed in 2010. I have lost and gained a lot of weight. Sometimes, no restriction, sometimes with extreme. I also had all my fluid emptied by one Dr because of emergency and then my regular Dr removed 4.5cc and it was yellow. She then added 1.5 for a total of 6cc. I can home in terrible pain ended up returning and when the Dr went to pull all fluid out he was only able to remove 1cc. So where there was 6cc and it was slightly yellow now there is 1cc. I dont understand. I keep having a pulling and pinching on my left side. The radiologist said that the tubing inside was too long and could maybe causing a bend or kink in it. It has also been said that the metal at the top of band could have eroded at the place it joined. Has anyone had a similar situation? I am lost and debating on having the lap band removed and gastric sleeving.

    Hi everyone!

Try alternating between your clear liquids and your protein shakes every hour... At the start of each hour, pour four little one ounce cups, and try to make a goal of drinking one every 15 minutes in 10 or more tiny little sips. Rest between sips and keep them really teeny. Don't take naps...you'll lose precious drinking time. If you just actively make this the goal of your life....you'll get your fluids and protein in. You won't get much else done...but you'll start to feel better and drinking will become much easier the more you drink.

    New... Spouses reactions post op

Thank you all. It's good to hear that. My husband has always been supportive of me at any weight and we've always had a strong marriage. To be honest this wasn't something I even considered in my research until he asked me if I had looked into it.

See Iโ€™m craving sweet stuff. And it wasnโ€™t the reason I got the surgery either. My genetics made my metabolism really slow. I eat pretty healthy and exercised 6 days a week. I just want ice cream.

I made a decision to stay away from ice cream. ๐Ÿ˜ฅ I have noticed in my month since surgery, that the less sweet stuff I eat, when I do (like a sweet protein drink) I find the sweetness overbearing. For me I think I am better trained to not want sweet, trying to break the sweetness addiction. Protein bars - there are some great ones. Quest bars ar really good - I took another memberโ€™s advice, so cut one into small chunks and put in a plastic bag, and bring out a bit as a treat during the day...

Straight into the DS. I was 399lbs and my surgeon was like this would give me the best short and long-term results. And I will say it has.
