My dr told me no workouts, but screw all I want. Just be extra cautious to not allow bodily fluids into your incisions. They need to stay clean to heal with no complications

Weight loss surgery - eating disorder

It can be overwhelming. We have focus on what we are eating, drinking and exercise too. I had my surgery over 4 years ago. I had some problems with strictures and I had 5 endoscopes with 4 dilation I actually couldn't even hold water down. So I really had a problem with food. I was very limited in what I could eat or drink. I developed an aversion to food. I started counseling with a local counselor, she tried but she didn't have a clue. Finally, my Surgeon and his nurse became concerned enough about my weight loss that he set me up with a Bariatric Counselor. She told me that I needed to eat every 1/2 hour and drink Boost for snacks. Now, a person that has fought so hard to lose her weight does not want to hear this. I told my hubby that I refused to trade one eating disorder for the other. I just could not justify that!! So yes we do live our new lifestyle and adjusting to what ever we have to. Listen to your Dr when he says get your weight loss within your honeymoon phase. Hang in there!! Take care of you!!

    Afraid to eat

I was the same way. As long as you stick to the guidelines, chew your food, and eat slowly, you should be fine.

When I say I've lost as much weight as I did, I count from the start of the process til now, which is 130 lbs all together. With just the surgery alone, it's close to just maybe 90 or so lbs. I've been putting in work since before I had my surgery, why not add that in too? Lol Hw-273 Sw-226 CW-143 GW-130 Size- 4 or 6, Small in sweats. Small in shirts. depends on how it's cut or made. Bra Size- 38D Surgery Date- April 26th, 2017 RNY "Only those who try will become" FFX

    Hangry

Oh Lordy! I’m a week post op and I’ve never looked at food or thought of food like I have in the last month! I want everything. Lol. I actually skipped my last protein shake because I was so upset I couldn’t have food. I was no in the mood to drink it. And I hate the routine. I’ve began to get moody because I can’t have a nice piece of meat. It’s so hard my craving is strong I can’t wait until I move on to my puréed diet. Some facts are I can’t drink more than 16 oz a day without being full, I can’t drink my 8oz protein shake only 4oz. And I can’t tolerate my vitamins without wanting to gag and throw them up. My nurse told me to wait a few days to continue taking the vitamins as long as I’m hydrated. Feel hydrated but I am not taking 64oz a day!

I think in some ways I have changed but who I am is still the same. I think the things that have changed are confidence and habits. Dealing with a slimmer body can be difficult to process. It has been for me. I didn't think it would. Two thoughts to pass on on that front. My doctor told me I needed to develop a new identity as an active "skinny" person. (I don't consider myself skinny but he was making a poont.) Counseling - I'm a big fan of c.b.t. and working through it. It is worth it though. It may be easy for you to accept the new package too.
