    Surgery tomorrow 12/27

New here. Been reading these boards for the last few weeks, my first time posting. I am scheduled for surgery at 8:30 am tomorrow morning, 12/27. Getting nervous! Excited for what this means for my life, mostly nervous about having actual surgery and complications. But it’s taken me two years to get to this point and there is no turning back now. Sit have to have faith that everything is going to be fine.

People always have an opinion and if you don't have thick skin you need to keep it to yourself because you will get worse comments than that you know that it's for a medical issue and you know what you and your doctor discussed and that should be between you and your doctor you don't owe anybody any explanations on why you're having surgery a lot of people are uneducated when it comes to this surgery before I had my surgery I was nervous so I would tell people I thought I could trust but their response were not the ones that I was looking for so I just don't tell people because a lot of people are not educated about the gastric sleeve. And I have thick skin and it'll only get me in trouble so I just don't say anything about it I've been told things like oh don't do it you're going to die or you really should think about that oh that's so dangerous and all this nothing that's ever positive and you're going to have people that are going to be jealous of you because of the weight loss and a whole bunch of other crap so it's best to just kind of keep it to yourself or maybe have one person that you can trust to talk to Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app

Sounds motivating, my daughter is 3 months old and im scared of never waking up due to dying in my sleep, i feel exhausted every day and feel as if i didnt sleep at all at times, i have low energy, i need a change and that pushed me to see the doc, my first meeting to start the 3 month process is jan 9th, i need to do a nutrionist class and some testing, but im so excited and scared, i really want to lose weight and get healthy.

    Adhesive reaction

I did but not as bad as yours .. the worst one was on my tight cuz of the catheter ... I still have reddish area but the itching part is gone. I was bathing with aveeno, I don’t know if that helped me .. but I didn’t use nothing else.

    Not losing weight

You have to trust the process.. I remeber losing 14 lbs per week avg first couple of months.. but I was bug (405lbs). The lower your bmi the lower pounds you loose per week. Metabolism is different too.. forget the scale and focus on size.. believe or not you might be loosing inches.. just trust procress.. follow your diet.. meet your liquid intake and protein and you will be ok.. cheers pal! And dont get discouraged

The weight they have for you is the weight they submit to insurance. At least that is what happened with me. I had to be a certain weight pre op before they would do the surgery because my bmi was really high. It all depends on the requirements of your insurance.
