She really can't eat much at only 11 days out by Christmas. I was on cream soups, cottage cheese, yogurt, and sf pudding. That doesn't give much leeway for holiday food choices. And she will not know how her sleeve will react to any new food, especially in a social situation. You can say you picked up a UTI and the antibiotic upsets your stomach - so the doc said you should stick to yogurt to get your gut bacteria back in shape. And when I'm better I would love some of your lasagne so I'm going to take some home and freeze it if that's okay with you?

I'd had my Lap-Band 10 years when I had it removed last year. It had become too tight even without the fluid. I'd maintained 60 of my 80 lb loss for 8 years, but if I'm honest, I was miserable with that thing. Instead of being disappointed when I was told it needed to be removed, I was relieved. I don't think I would have come to that decision myself as I was so afraid of gaining it back. Predictably, in less than a year, I'd put on 50lbs despite eating relatively little and upping my exercise frequency. I had a mini-gastric bypass almost 3 months ago and I'm really pleased so far with how things are going. The weight isn't flying off, but the loss is steady (I've lost 45 of the 70lbs I'd like to lose). I can eat more than with the band (about a cup), so I don't feel ripped off all the time. I seldom vomit and when I get full, it's gradual and feels natural. I tolerate most foods, so my diet is way more balanced and varied. I do experience dumping which is unpleasant, but I'm learning its triggers (sugar, high GI carbs etc) and am avoiding those foods. As I was an insulin resistant "sugar enthusiast," this is not necessarily a bad thing. I'm developing some aversions to sweets and therefore, don't really feel all that tempted or deprived (even at Christmas!). All in all, I think you will be really happy with your choice and only regret not doing it in the first place. Good luck!

    Hard Work Pays Off ♥️

The first and last love is to love yourself! Never in a million years did I ever picture myself wearing such dress. I loved it and how I felt in it. Amazing feeling to experience. When your confident in each step, it shows and it attracts so many good things. One of the most memorable days of my life [emoji813]️

    Why no liquor??

We are married TEN YEARS today (23rd Dec). I have been having a vino moscato once or twice per week for two weeks now. It's okay but remember it's best not to waste your minimal stomach space on more than one 150mL glass of wine in a day. (I'm 9.5 weeks post-op).

Congrats! You look amazing, it takes a lot of hard work to get where you are. You should be proud! I’m on stage two, starting 3 on the 27th. I started at 256 and weigh 212lbs now. Feels good to be healthy.

    Revision sleeve to bypass

I’m having a revision to RNY from the sleeve (2012). I’m considered a “lower” BMI. I have extreme GERD. I had to have the PH test done, which was horrible and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. Also, had to have an upper GI done. I have a hernia and a hiatal hernia. I was approved in a couple days and am scheduled for surgery January 29th. Best of luck to you.

I had my band year ago probably 8 and my revision on Oct 9th this year, the band never really worked until I started to have partial esophageal paralysis. Once that happened I was fast tracked for the removal and revision. I am on week 10 and down 58 pounds more than I ever lost with the band and the only thing that has caused an issue was the pain on my left side it would hit mostly at night for the first 5 or so nights it was pretty damn bad and I would have to take my pain med to sleep. After that it has been pretty smooth sailing. Good luck

    Post surgery check list

I've been thinking of the same thing. Just trying to get prepared. To add onto your list: 1. blender or food processor 2. broth for sure! I recommend a broth that you can find from Walmart. It has an increased amount of protein. It is also organic and gluten free. I've attached pics. They have chicken, vegan, and beef. Warning: the vegan has a lot more calories

I am from Mexico and had RNY on october 17th 2017. I did a lot of research to choose a good doctor and found Dr. Roberto Rumbaut, he is one of top WLS doctors in Mexico... I would never consider any doctor that is not in one of the main cities in the country like, MExico City, Guadalarja or Monterrey where I had the surgery... The best hospitals in the county and obviously the best doctors are there. Even Tijuana that I know is quite popular in this forum will never be an option for me..... Also complications do happen, I had a stricture that had nothing to do with the doctors technic or method, it was simply a scarring issue that was fixed in 20 minutes..... I hope you get much better ! BR
