I can only stand the shakes when added to coffee. I had to wait 2 weeks per docs orders but now I add premier protein to decaf coffee in morning and drink on it for an hour or more. Also have one after dinner as a snack while watxhing tv. The coffee really cuts the sweetness of the shakes.

    Surgery 12/27 getting nervous

Stay on track and stay strong! I just was sleeved 6 days ago and each passing day is better and it's not even been a week! Instead of focusing on the possibilities of negatives, keep your mind focused on thinking positively. You signed up for surgery to improve your quality of life, take control of your health and give yourself the best chance of long term success. It's all possible, but your mental prep is as important as your meal prep! Hang in there and keep us posted! There are lots of people out here rooting for you and everyone else on their journeys.

2 months post op. Sleeved 10/16

MG I was sleeved on 10/2 and doing well also. I am down 36 pounds from surgery and 81 pounds total. I am 19 pounds from 100 and have 41 pounds to reach my goal of 185. We are the same height. Tough staying away from sweets this time of year for my company gets bombarded with gift basket after gift basket. I need to increase my water intake and stay on top of my vitamins and protein. Slacked off from the gym last week but going back to daily gym this week. Been working on strength and muscle toning as well as minimum of 30 minutes of daily cardio. Had been on a stall for a few weeks but weight is creeping off again. Keep up the good work!

I'm also Almost 7 weeks out Have you tried clear protein drinks or protein waters? Also adding ice or water to those super sweet protein shakes really helps... And not a popular opinion but you may have to buckle down and survive one swallow at a time. Speady recovery

3 days out and hurting ?

Marina, I totally understand what your feeling. I am 5 days post op and am having significant pain, fullness(bloaty), and am also unable to really drink anything. I am hoping this subsides soon. dehydration is my main concern.

Just a general response...we don't have all the answers folks. I was just discharged yesterday. The bleeding was coming from the lower abdominal area. I adheared to all insurance requirements, they accepted my first pre-surgery visit as a supervised weight lost visit along with a couple more that I had to attend to make the six total. I lost 11lbs on the two week pre surgery diet. My surgeon required liquids and stemmed veggies, fruit, and lean meat. I reside in NC and my surgery was in Cary, NC by a very reputable surgeon, Dr. Villanueva. I will be following up with the hematologist this week. My labs were good prior to surgery but after I was told that it appears my blood clots slower than what is normal. Again folks, I'm not a doctor and I don't yet understand this myself. My reason for the post was only to make others aware. Sent from my LG-LS997 using BariatricPal mobile app

Author: Detoxinista.com Serves: 4-6 A creamy, fruit-based soft serve dessert! Ingredients 1 fresh pineapple, peeled, cored and chopped 1 cup almond milk 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for authentic sweetness) Instructions To get started, you’ll want to freeze the pineapple chunks. I chopped mine a day ahead of time, and froze the chunks overnight. You could also purchase frozen pineapple, if you prefer. As you can see from the picture below, the frozen pineapple reached the 6.5 – 7 cup mark on my blender pitcher. This recipe works best in a high-speed blender, like the Vitamix, because you’ll need to be able to pulverize the frozen pineapple into an ice-cream-like consistency. A normal blender will most likely not work, but a food processor might. Combine the frozen pineapple with the almond milk and honey, then blend until a frozen sorbet texture is achieved. For an authentic Dole Whip presentation, transfer the frozen dessert to a large plastic bag, and cut off the tip to create a piping bag. Pipe the pineapple whip into 4-6 dishes, and serve immediately! Any leftovers can be frozen in an ice cube tray, and used in smoothies later.
