    Success 2-3 yrs post op?

I am coming up on 3 years, I am no where near the eating machine I was prior. I literally would be stuffed and thinking about the next meal. I didn't want to "let down" my wife by not taking seconds or having something at my in-laws because they made something for me. Now I no longer have to bother faking interest, I'll just say that I have to save my calories or I over full from something prior to getting there. Works out well for me since everyone knows I had the sleeve.

    Success 2-3 yrs post op?

I'm four years out. Yup, I get hungry but not like pre op. And the more simple carbs/sugar I eat the hungrier I get.

    Day of Surgery

I am sitting here waiting for the doctor to come in. I have done all of my preop stuff and I'm sitting here in my backless gown. I'm so nervous! I have lost a total of 29 lbs before surgery, which is exciting! I'm getting more and more anxious as the minutes pass....... Thanks! Kyla Jo

    HAIR LOSS

AT ABOUT 3 MONTHS I STARTED LOSING LOTS AND LOTS OF HAIR. WHAT WAS WORSE WAS THAT IT WAS IN THE FRONT WHERE EVERYONE CAN SEE. I WAS SO FREAKED OUT ABOUT MY HAIR LOSS I WENT TO MY DOCTOR TO SEE WHAT I CAN DO. FIRST THING HE ASKED IS IF I TAKE ALL MY VITAMINS....WELL THAT WAS A NEGATIVE. I WASN'T TAKING THEM ON A REGULAR BASIS BECAUSE THEY'D MAKE ME FEEL SICK. I STARTED TAKING THEM RELIGIOUSLY AND ADDED BIOTIN. MY HAIR HAS BEEN GROWING OUT NOW, AND I DON'T LOSE AS MUCH HAIR. ***SO THE KEY IS TO MAKE SURE YOU TAKE ALL YOUR VITAMINS EVERY SINGLE DAY***

    Period questions

My body has been very confused since surgery. I have skipped a month, and had heavier than normal and lighter than normal months. I think once my weight eventually stabilizes I'll be able to see what the new norm will be.

    Could I be loosing more?

Wow 60 pounds! That's awesome! 3 pds a week is very good!!! The body can only lose so much weight at a time. I think your doing great and are on track. Congratulations! Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app

I don't think the amount is the OP's concern, but the ability to take normal size slugs and feel no resistance. Be careful chugging too fast and too much because you won't have enough time to know if too much is going to cause you to suddenly upchuck. This may change too as you heal and swelling goes down - remember the staple line takes at least 6 weeks to heal and sometimes 3 months. Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should throw caution to the wind. The pyloric valve at the junction between the stomach and intestine does not hold liquids - it passes through, solids will give you resistance. Good luck.

10 days post op lap band

This is a really, really horrible thing to write on a thread of people who have just had their bands put in. What did you actually hope to achieve by writing this? Give people advice, give them warning signs to look out for, give them some context regarding your circumstances. Don't just come here and tell them the life changing decision they have just made almost killed you! Not nice at all! Sent from my Pixel using BariatricPal mobile app

Scale going up! What's going on?

You do lose a lot of water weight at the beginning of a diet, it's true. The postop period is almost a "start over". Everything is thrown into chaos with the shock if the surgery, IV fluids, lack of calories, and many people can't make their fluid goals for the first week or two, so there is dehydration. The body cycles through fluid unbelievably quickly. So when a person puts on 3, 4, 5 pounds overnight, it's just fluid. Maybe they were dehydrated, and now it's replenished, or perhaps they're storing extra because of stress (like Drop said).. there are lots of reasons for it.. just part of the process...
