    Day of Surgery

I am sitting here waiting for the doctor to come in. I have done all of my preop stuff and I'm sitting here in my backless gown. I'm so nervous! I have lost a total of 29 lbs before surgery, which is exciting! I'm getting more and more anxious as the minutes pass....... Thanks! Kyla Jo

    1 day post op

In my case, about 13-14 hours re the gas AND about 18 hours for the bowels. Mind you, my bowel movements resembling "normality" ... i.e. not being 85% or more gas or runny liquid ... that took about nine days.

I think a weekly thread would be fine unless the group posting gets very large. But yes, I like seeing what others are eating. Today I had high-protein oatmeal with half an apple for breakfast (ate about three-quarters of it). Also a cup of coffee with some cream. I'll admit that I've been having trouble having three meals a day. Usually have two--just not hungry.

    Period questions

The surgery does mess our cycles up. If your IUD was hormonal, then the loss of that can change things as well. Just watch out for excessive bleeding, but otherwise I wouldn't worry.

Also, messing with the guts can cause a disruption of neurotransmitters that affects our mood! Make him get moving, get in sunshine when possible and also watch comedies! Laughter releases endorphins (happy hormones)! And follow @Berry78's great advice!

Those look so delicious. I'm only 5 days out so still have a long way to go before I get to eat real food like that. Sent from my XT1635-01 using BariatricPal mobile app
