    Whoa! Moments

I feel like I lost some height because I used to have to buy tall clothes (I'm about 5'8") but now they're way too long on me. I know I didn't actually lose height, I just don't have as much in the booty and belly to fill clothes out, so now I can buy regular length pants. Nice for me because they are often a bit cheaper!

I just finished purees and am on soft food now. My favorite thing, both for taste and ease of eating, was and still is cottage cheese. I always loved cottage cheese and I found that it went down so easily, that it remains a favorite. Also, I loved the pea soup I made from scratch.

I loooved mashed potatoes made with veggie broth! I switched off with applesauce so I could have the sweet/savory combo.

    Whoa! Moments

I'm sure I'm not alone in having moments where you are shocked by the changes your body is making. What are some of your moments that made you stop and say, "Whoa!"? The most recent change I've noticed has been being able to see the tendons in my hands and feet. I still catch my reflection in windows and think, "who is that?!" Since my job is fairly physical and has me stooping and kneeling a lot, I am amazed when I can basically jump back up from a kneeling position without breaking a sweat or having to grab onto something. In fact being able to push myself up from any position (especially laying down) still surprises me. When I first started to see my collar bones, I'd see how visible I could make them by moving muscles or my neck and arms in certain ways (okay I still do this).

    Reason for missing work??

I even tell strangers. I really dislike the stigma and find that explaining it to people increases acceptance. Everybody at work knows but we are a close knit group anyway.

    Pre op weight loss

I did a two week preop. Two shakes a day, protein and a salad, and two approved snacks. I lost 15 lbs. I was kind of shocked.

    Reason for missing work??

Hernia repair. Same recovery and having to drink fluids for a while. I’m being upfront about mine because I think people will notice. [emoji16]

    Sonoma fires- Staying focused

10/15/17 Good Afternoon All, I've been having trouble not regressing to eat bad things since the Sonoma Wildfires started. I can't eat a lot at a time but I can snack. I'm trying to stay strong but when I get stressed its very hard to do. These fires are scary. We are still in our house but I worry about evacuating myself, my husband and our 3 cats a lot. It makes me want to eat. Any suggestions on willpower?

I certainly understand the struggle. I would love to find my motivation to lose weight again. I am 180 and I definitely felt better around 160-165. My best suggestion is to fall in love with exercise or a particular workout. Mine is Jillian Michaels, Beachbody's Insanity and Hammer and Chisel. You just need to find what works best for you. I wish my cravings didn't return with a vengeance and I wish I didn't SNACK so much because I feel that is the single most thing sabotaging EVERYTHING. But I have what I have to work with. Hang in there and have fun exploring different ways to motivate your body to move! :-)
