    Sleeve Surgery stomach removal Q

At this point I've spent a couple thousand hours looking at bariatric related stuff. I've watched the actual surgeries on youtube, read a lot of studies, and watched the likes of Dr. Matthew Weiner and Dr. Duc Vuong. I'm always excited to see a new piece of information (and I am still learning new stuff all the time). I don't work at the moment, so this is like a job/hobby. And if I can help others, all the better. What is a self-esteem boost is y'all listen to me better than my own family. (Funny how that works). But, the problems are always the same. My MIL (who lives with me) started trying to lose weight.. is doing well. She has lost about 30lbs, and suddenly it's the dreaded stall/scale bounce up. So now I hear her moaning and groaning, just like everyone on this board! Aaaahhhhh! Lol! Both hubby and MIL lose 30 or 40lbs (they were both 100lbs overweight to start).. and then the scale stops budging, they lose heart and stop watching what they are eating as closely. I'm watching WHY DIETS FAIL unfold, right before my eyes. They refuse to weight/count/measure. It's ok to drink a few calories or grab fast food. Just this once. I was in a hurry. I was out of town. Yup.

    I'm a mess.

I'm about five months post op and I have been horrible this last month. Old habits slipping back in. Not weighing or measuring. I've felt horrible physically and emotionally. What is wrong with me? I fought so hard to get this surgery and was convinced I'd do great. So, I've started pushing water and weighing everything. Ev. Er. Ree. Thing! Logging and tracking. No estimating. I'm really disappointed in myself.

    Probiotics After WLS

I take them. Anything that's good for gut health gets a thumbs up from me.

Totally agree I'm down -15 lbs since surgery.. I stepped on the scale for the 1st time since my post op appointment 8 days ago and I'm down 15 lbs. I'm just keeping track on Myfitnesspal. I'm taking in about 1200 calories a day. The best part about it is I'm not hungry. I used to take in easily 3k calories and work out for 1 1/2 hrs and lose nothing and still be hungry... Now I'm satisfied too the point of being full on 1200 calories. I'm beyond happy. Today was a an amazing day for me. I had so much energy. Now I'm just relaxing watching the world series and hockey. Being Thick

I have been told by multiple people (friends, family and coworkers) that I am getting slim and shouldn't lose much more weight (like maybe 20 more lbs max). I'm at 197 right now and want to hit 130 (and this is my max, I ideally want to get smaller). I'm not even 5 feet tall but a number of people have said that I shouldn't want to lose my "thickness". I don't get it. I can't wrap my head around this obsession with "thickness". At 130 I'd still be considered overweight. I don't even like the way I look right now so it boggles my mind to have people say that I look good this way. Has anyone else experienced this?

    Any tips?

Our nutrition postop is about meeting goals. -60+g of protein (or your doc's recommendation) -64+oz of fluids -Taking your vitamins -Keeping your calories counted and controlled.. -Exercise (unless contraindicated) These are all forever. But, real food is better than "fake" food, so don't use shakes unless you have to. Chances are, you're just in a stall unless the scale doesn't move for a month and your measurements don't change.

    Massive Energy

Since my weight has come down I'm waking up early morning with massive amounts of energy it's like nothing I've ever experienced before, I'm walk-run-sprinting for 10 kilometres and returning home and lifting weights for 30 mins and still cannot sit or relax due to the amount of energy running through me, normally this has been happening between 8am -9.30am then goes away, anyone else experienced this?

What did you take to the hospital?

I was in the hospital for two days and two nights. The things I took that I actually used: Laptop + charger Kindle + charger phone + charger lip balm!!! - This was a life saver! Longjohns/jammie pants Towel - everyone should know where her towel is (I sleep with mine) The things I took that I didn't use: Extra set of clothes + slippers Toothbrush - one was provided My daily medication - they had this ready for me every day Real book - it was too dark in the evening and at night to read a regular book, but the kindle worked well My cpap machine - I know I should have used it, but it was way too much of an issue with everything else going on. The things I wish I had: Noise cancelling headphones/earbuds - my neighbor (I was in a semi-private room) had her tv on ALL THE TIME! I really hated that and had them turn it off for the second night. Hand game/toy/puzzle to fiddle with when my eyes needed a break from my screens.
