My date is Oct 30th as well. I too have been sneaking more bad foods (since being given my date), but I haven't stopped exercising, nor have I stopped trying to watch out for certain foods during the day. I start the pre-op on the 16th so I think part of it is trying to get that last "hurrah" in before I start prepping.

    Why am I so nervous?

As I type this, I am on my way to my final pre-op appointment with my surgeon and my surgery is on Monday. Ladies and gentlemen, I have been researching this for a few years. I know what to expect. I've followed my pre-op diet to the letter and I've even lost some weight. So why on earth am I so nervous right now? My heart feels like it's going to beat out of my chest. Why am I so nervous?

It's perfectly normal to feel that way. I was very nervous myself when I went in on Monday morning. It was over in the blink of an eye and I was back home Tuesday by 4:00pm. Today, the pain has decreased considerably. Felt like really bad cramps, but the pain killers helped. I'm super excited about my future and you should be too. I was nervous because so many people depend on me and I was scared of the chance that something could go wrong. But I realized this was something I needed to do if I wanted to be with my family for the long haul. You can do this. Good Luck!

Abdominal Pain - 13 years post op

You should get checked out by your doc. In the meantime, if the pain becomes severe, go to the ER, since it could be a bowel obstruction or hernia. Recently there was a bypass patient that had to get surgery for a Petersen's defect. It is a fairly rare complication of the bypass, and it can happen anytime postop (even 13 years). Hopefully it's nothing, just some constipation, but better safe than sorry...

@"White Sale", I was thinking the same thing. All we need to do is hit the Vitamin Shoppes and GNC's while everyone else is hitting the grocery stores! Plus, we won't struggle with rations, because we won't need much to fill us up. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

If you are stocking on food most people won't think of grabbing Protein powder so just get that when others leave it behind and you will be good Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
