    Want lapband out

I just recently had a lapband to sleeve revision done, all in one surgery. The lapband was a huge waste of time and money for me. I had it in for 7 years and I'm so glad to be rid of it and actually on the way to a healthier me.

    25 pounds down

I had my surgery sept 06 2017 and in all even with pre op I only lost 25 pounds in like a month but still happy I haven't been this thin in a while. [emoji7][emoji173]️

I have iced coffee and coffee. I use stevia an half and half. I mean you know what the problem is. Decide if iced coffee is worth being obese for. I don't think it is. You want sugar or you just want a "treat", it is better to figure out WHY you want this, that is the only way you are going to get past it.

I know where you are coming from with having to lose weight before your surgery. I thought the same thing you did. If I haven't been able to successfully lose weight myself for the past 25 years, what makes now any different? The difference is that you really aren't dieting this time. You are making a total lifestyle change that you will need to follow from now on. I lost about 12 pounds in 3 months with my doctor supervised diet and that was before I made any diet changes that I will follow from now on. I met my surgeon after my 3 month supervised diet and he gave me some tips and so did the NUT. I was told to cut out all soda and sweetened beverages. Also no carbonated drinks. Increase my water or non caloric beverage intake to at least 64 oz a day. Try to cut as much sugar intake as I could and lower my carb intake too. Doing all of that made a huge difference for me and I lost some weight as I changed over. Finally, I started walking everyday. I just walked around my neighborhood and worked my way up to 4 miles a day-2 miles in the morning and 2 in the evening. Walking made a huge difference and it is important to your healing process after surgery. I decreased my pain immensely by getting up and walking as much as possible after the surgery. And lastly, I tried out my liquid diet about 2 months prior to my surgery date. I did it for 2 weeks and lost 18 pounds prior to surgery. You can do this! This is a life changing experience and is so worth it. Good luck to you! [emoji3]

    Low fat deserts..

It's true.. fruit can be a bit high in carbs for some plans. 1/2 a medium apple has about 10g net carbs. If you're keto, it's too many. But, you asked about low fat, and now low carb too? What exactly does your nut expect you to eat?

Abdominal Pain - 13 years post op

You should get checked out by your doc. In the meantime, if the pain becomes severe, go to the ER, since it could be a bowel obstruction or hernia. Recently there was a bypass patient that had to get surgery for a Petersen's defect. It is a fairly rare complication of the bypass, and it can happen anytime postop (even 13 years). Hopefully it's nothing, just some constipation, but better safe than sorry...

    Newbie

I am open for chatting too, had my surgery on 9/14/17. So I am on the mushy stage, still having some pain from my hernia repair and feeling low. I can really use some perspective and would just love to make a few new friends

I use the app. In order to update my info I have to go on my laptop which I use infrequently. I too wish the app was a little more user friendly.
