    Hungry

I am 10 days post op and I am always hungry. The first 4 days I didn't even think about food, and now I'm always hungry. I drink my water and my protein shakes too. Is there ANYTHING I can eat at this stage that won't hurt me. Oh and I had the gastric sleevr not lap band.

    Any oct. 13 sleevers !

I am also on the 13th! Go twin! I think I’m more nervous about the surgery in general and not the day. I love horror movies and October is my favorite month so this felt like fate. I’m on day 2 of this liquid diet and it’s really a lot. I’m doing a podcast type conversation so follow along and maybe you can call in one day to chat with me about having this day!

    Weight loss stall

It happens to everyone. Keep up your fluids, make sure you are tracking everything your eating to check nothing is slipping throuh and usually after a couple of weeks the stal passes on its own.

    New found attention!!!

It could also be a combination of factors: not just the change in your appearance, but respect and admiration for your determination to do this hard thing and make a success of it. Or appreciation that you came though the surgery safely--he may have been nervous about that. It's also possible to think you love someone as much as it's possible to love anyone and then find an even deeper level of love. Doesn't mean the earlier feeling was false.

    2 weeks out..not a pound lost!?

Well, I think mine was a combo of the fluids + pms/period. Of course that started about 10 days after surgery, period ended yesterday and I weighed this morning and was already down 1lb, so hopefully now that's all out of the way I will see more progress

    Vaping

I vaped all through my preop period. It never came up and I never thought about mentioning it. After my pre op testing, they found very high levels of Nic in my system....which honestly, I didn't even know they check for that. My CRNP asked about my nic levels and I explained that I used to smoke but quit and started vaping instead (I quit ciggys in 2014). She said she'd let the surgeon know and told me to stop right away...but I was already only a week or two pre op. she explained that smoking is a deal breaker for surgery, but given the circumstances she would talk to the Dr. I did vape right up until the day of surgery. I noticed no ill effects from it, but I didn't start vaping again until several weeks after the surgery. After surgery, it just didn't seem appealing, which was a surprise. I thought I would be the guy sneaking vape hits in the bathroom....but it just wasn't appealing at all. Looking back, that would have been a great opportunity to completely give it up, but since I felt like I gave up so much already....I went back. I make my own juice, so I still put a very small amt of nic in (less than 2 percent). So, it is what it is, I guess. Disclaimer- this was only my experience....I'm not encouraging anything negative, addictive, or unhealthy. Do what's best for you and your health. Good luck on your journey!!!

    July Surgery

How's everyone doing? My RNY was July 25, 2017 ... When I began this journey in January I weighed 244 ... I'm down 44 lbs since January, 36 since 2 wks before surgery and 27 since surgery ... I definitely consider myself a slow loser and am going to have to work for every ounce I have to lose ... how's everyone else feeling or doing?

    HELP! Portion sizes

My guidance was ounces by volume, not by weight, which is a little confusing since most people use scales to measure out their food.

    July Surgery

I'm another person who had surgery on 7/25. Doing well, still some lingering pain but nothing that needs tylenol let alone opiates. Still feeling tired and a little wore down. Down 30lbs!
